because their pitches U can only get wickets with the spinners in SL, india, used to be PAK but that looks dim now...

again it comes down to sri lanka making pitches for their own bowlers e.g. malinga u cant do much about malinga can u.... even on a normal pitch!

Tuffy played a practice game on same pitchs and he end uo taking 4 wickets haha!!

O'brien is no where close to other ogod NZ bowlers

tuffy doesnt bowl fast enuf on fast tracks though thats his only problem, good on slow traks get plenty of wickets but not on fast tracks....

u must admit though southee's line and length is not consistant nowhere near international status YET... in a couple years to make him mature out and then he should be good to go!

SL wickets are not only good for spinners, plenty of fast bowlers have done very well over here.

He is a gd bowler but i think he needs to just adapt in international cricket well in the odi because i think he goes for too manny runs in odis so if he can bowl upto 90mph that will be brill because he is allready a gd swing bowler :)

He only bowls low 80's. In 5 years time i bet he will be pushing 90 regularly. This is the same way Stuart Broad developed.

Tim Southee only seems to bat well when he is batting with chris martin. He has hit 11 sixes while batting with him. He is also a great bowler, though he needs more goes in tests.

They are different bowlers.. Mcgrath was all about line n length.. n Southee is about swing.

The problem is, he's already being labelled as the next Chris Cairns. As soon as he has an average period he'll probably be dropped. Saying that he was a very good player at the age group level.

I completely agree with you, it would have been wonderful to have seen him playing in the 80's with all the other great all-rounders.

Just needs a extra yard of pace that should come when he gets a bit older as he really struggles when the ball isn't swinging.
