  • @michaelcwatkins319 Thanks a million Michael

  • straight beast

  • @jswizzle02 Thanks - Funk

  • BEAST MODE

  • i got a question Funk, I've switched from training for aesthetics/size to now training for fast twitch muscle fibres that will help with mma/bjj. What would you recommend for speed and power?

  • @Gangaroos Hey Gangaroos check out the funkmma website. It is my MMA Strength and Conditioning Website targeted at Mixed Martial Artists and Combat Athletes like yourself, or atheltes and people that would like to look like one. I do have a a specific workout that I did when preparing for my Muay Thai fight in Thailand on the website - Sprint intervals(awesome for speed, exposive and conditioning) with Hurdle Hops (plyometrics and explosive power) and muscular strength - pushup variation-Funk

  • @marcroops Workout YouTube video name - MMA WORKOUT PLYOMETRICS AND SPEED #2 - Funk Roberts

  • i feel the lactic acid after watching that

  • I'm so giving this a go. this is a lot different to a standard gym workout, do you think this focuses on the specific strengths of MMA fighters? and whats the easiest way to bulk legs up?

  • @LedsyRoids Hey LedsyRoids these type of workouts and my Spartacus Workouts are great for MMA fighters as they work, Explosiveness, Power, Core Strength, Muscula Endurance, Plyometrics, Stability, Speed and of course the most important Cardio and Conditioning - also check out FunkMMA website for a ton of free workouts..As for the legs Squats variations, Lunge variations will hepl to develop the legs...but that depends on your goals ...bodybuilding or athletic (MMA) - Funk

  • thats fucked.........................

  • Dope song

  • @ilovehonda20 - Thanks Funk

  • Great ideas for workouts, thanx.

  • @ellas try to be smoother in ur movements

  • @psychosaneify Thanks for the feedback. Which ones specifically? Reminder this was done after 2 hours of Muay Thai Training - just saying...Funk roberts

  • does anyone else find that the kettlebells tend to smash into your arms when doing the snatch? haha i always end up with fat red marks

  • @ClinchFighter911 Thanks Clinch and keep training hard...even with kettlebells - Funk

  • good work out technique. will this build muscle mass quick and strength? keep up the good training too lol

  • Seriously? You squatting 48 pounds, what the fuck, were they out of bread?

  • @hornywhitehottie - 48kg = 105 lbs - and this circuit is a beast even if you half the weight. I doubt most youtube warriors could do one round of this circuit. The plyo alone would kill me. And he did this shit after 2 hours of training. Beasty.

  • @readytoheaven - I Love it - make sure to check out the Spartacusworkout website for free 4 week program

  • OUTSIDE GYM + HEAT + SUNGLASSES = HARDCORE

  • Phuket = fuck it ;p

  • Love the music. Tribe Called Quest, great choice.

  • @laidbackchillin88 I went to there concert you dont understand how much better they are LIVE!!!

  • I'm trying it today! Excellent video

  • is that in thailand?

  • @Caraullywuelly Yes Tiger Muay Thai and MMA Training Academy in Phuket, Thailand

  • @austinbnryahoo are you fucking retarded?

  • hey Funk is it ok if I use 2 bosu balls instead of a tire since i dont have a tire that big available?

  • @TheElpapanator Sure brutha!!!

  • @TheElpapanator PANAPEEEEEN NO SE PUEDEEEE

  • @MAZU56 what are you talking about? it's possible dude

  • @austinbnryahoo like every choke, throw and etc.

  • Mr. Roberts. Thanks for posting such a great and inspiring workout. I'm a 56 year old guy. Managed 3 rounds for the first time today (less intense than you do), and I was wiped out.

  • @ishabaka Keep going, nice to see an elderly person still going.

  • Excelentes ejercicios, los incluire en mi entrenamiento, gracias por subirlos...

  • Excelentes ejercicios, los incluire en mi entrenamiento, gracias por subirlos...

  • The best.

  • Hey funk great vid!!! whats the name of this song in tis vid?

  • you are ....... sweating!!

  • hey man nice vids, how many times would you reccomend to do each exersize till you can't do anymore or is there a number you do? cheers

  • @H0BnobHEAD _ Hey I recommend you do each exercise for time, maybe 45 sec of work, followed by 15 sec rest for each exercise - get yourself a gymboss timer

  • @marcroops Like Interval training? Do you center whole workouts around intervals, or do you think its good to incorporate heavy lifts as well?

  • @KogarasumaruStorm Hey Koga, Intervals are part of the equation...Power lifting/Olympic lifts are amazing to incorporate once a week early in your training camp to build pure powe - squats, weighted pull ups, deadlift, snatches, cleans (of course you must learn the technique first) - Plyometrics for exposive power....Core and Abs training...Sprints Intervals, hills for speed, endurance and conditioning...The thing I like with intrevals is you can incorporate a lot of the above within a circuit

  • @marcroops you wee in thailand?

  • @DreDre2411 Yes I have been twice and continue to go every year. Faught a Muay Thai fight in January (2nd round KO) Chiang Mai - trained at Burklerk Gym, 13 Coins and Tiger Muay Thai and MMA (twice) - Funk Roberts

  • @marcroops thats awsome do u still still fight or no?

  • @DreDre2411 No, I train MMA and Muay Thai fighters (Combat athletes) - check out funkmma website - my fiance fights though - Muay Thai

  • @marcroops oh thats cool im starting mma really soon

  • @H0BnobHEAD - You can do each exercise for time - for example 45 seconds of work followed by 15 sec rest for 2-3 rounds

  • rawr rawr like a dungeon dragon

scenario-a tribe called quest = song

  • Man, you always be playing some dope hip hop in your vids. Keep it up!

  • heyyy i recently stumbled over ur videos and they've been significant inspirations man!!! i have a questoin tho...i dun have access to a big tire that u do for the tire jumps...any suggested substitutions??? thanks man!!!

  • damn awesome bro how many times a week do you do this

  • 17 people tried this workout and failed.

  • this is great endurance training; sold me on the tire jumps

  • K thanks. Love the videos btw!

  • @blueknight424life Scenario tribe Called Quest- tells you under the views - cheers Funk Roberts

  • those look like awesome workouts but that first one it wood hurt if u ended up hitting ur self in the nuts

  • Now that's a workout!!!

  • Thank You Man!

  • whats good weight for db punches?

  • @ty99999returns - Hey Ty - try 10lbs maybe 5lbs..not too much but enough to give you a little burn...muscular endurace is key - visit funkmma website

  • @marcroops how often a week do i do this? every other, every day, etc...?

  • @marcroops Does bench pressing help me punch harder?

  • @pooponhoop - Hey POOPON, punching power comes from the hips so bench presses (which is for the chest) will not do much for punching power...check out the funkmma website for workouts and exercises for punching and combat athletes

  • Best vids I've found on here, keep up the good work.

  • Brilliant Workout!! Makes me want to go back for another round at the gym!!

  • lots of jumps it love they are the way to go. top work out love the open air gym and back ground.

Im 16 year old and 76kg. In my eyes, im fat, i want to get ripped so badly, just started with kick boxing.

  • @HevyToy watch or download the bas rutten (former UFC HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMP) mma workout 4 free y'all - copy and paste this link just change the word (dot) with a real dot or period. -- youtube(dot)com/watch?v=vd8hsAfQIKQ

  • nice shades

  • Some intense shit!

     yo what song was that?

  • Best gym ever. Wish the weather here in North America was warm enough all year round for something like that. A few palm trees couldn't hurt either.. Thanks for the vid.

  • These are some crazy workouts. They will definitelycondition your body while making you stronger. Workouts like these are crucial to an MMA fighter.

I dont even do MMA fighting...Im a retired / ex basketball player / fitness model/ now fiction writer...but i'm in the best shape of my life..on the court and off...and im 39...DO YOUR THING FUNK!

  • Comment removed

  • @ImToMMyXD Don't you think that doing this as circuit and doing five rounds is a good challenge?

  • @ImToMMyXD fucking owned so hard bitch

  • @ImToMMyXD pretty sure its BODY WEIGHT exercise not single sided weight exercise you fucking child.

  • Sunglasses is a part of the training? Cool :D ima wear sunglasses all the time and get buff XD

  • О! Гири и до Африки дошли! Наверно Советские солдаты идею подкинули)))

  • yo my man funk roberts wat do u think a good start with the trainning for a 17 yr old i left 35kg boxes at work but wat do u think i should do to train

  • i luv u

  • I do this training before banging a girl!

  • just one thing, for the next vids can you post how much of a break should be taken in between each set/circuit.

  • Go my dude.

  • Would this work out be good for a 14 year old or would it be pushing it?

  • @unfriendly702 For a 14 yr old, that is definitely pushing it - this is an advanced workout - a 14 year old should start with bodyweight exercises to build a foundation of strength

  • @marcroops, what about 17 then? i apparently still grow a little. i've grown an inch this year, but gained quite much musclemass (mostly luck with genes though), does that reduce my height growth even if i eat a lot of proteins etc.?

  • @marcroops meh I'm 15 and I can bench 225 :D

  • @unfriendly702 CORRECT.. i have coached youth in basketball and have integrated many plyometric workouts...just dont include weights as he/she is still growing, but doing all/most of the movements with his/her own body weight will definitely benefit them. The most i have given my players to work with is an 8 lb medicine ball and they complete their exercises with it. if thats too heavy go lower and it will enhance his / her strength and performance in their respective activity, regardless of sp

  • @unfriendly702

Best bet is to do loads of bodyweight exercises and go to gymnastics classes.

  • @unfriendly702 hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • u look like if u would be a good fighter nd u exerrcises r kool 2

post up one of ur fights :P

  • Wow! Amazing physique. I'm going to try these exercises when I go to the gym next time. I want to do a little less machine resistance training and more cardio/strength/core "drill" exercises. Subscribed.

  • Great workout video. Appreciate the post.

  • It's all about the sunglasses. How do they stay on? lol. Seriously... I tried this workout and i'm a fan of it. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Curling 3 lb. (or according to one's strength) as fast as you can for 1-3 minutes at a time really increases hand speed. Mohammed Ali was said to have been able to do this for 15 3 minute rounds with ease.

  • thats too tiring

  • thats my ffriends dad

  • ght

  • dude im tired and gassed just watchin you......sick fucking work!!!5 *

  • dude nice videoo man

name of the song pleasee X

  • how many days a week is it ok to weight lift??

  • Yo Funk Roberts, can you please explain to me what does the workout, bench jumps, side to side bench hops, side to side bench jumps and bench runs benefit us. Which part of the body does it train? Can you reply me asap. I too want to do this.

  • @toxicinspector hey toxin this may not be 100% accurate and reliable but the bench things are plyometric exercises and help to build explosive power I am not sure what muscle groups they use but they are great cardio workouts to help raise the heart rate. :)

    only trying to help... cheers

  • @toxicinspector These are plyometric exercises that help with explosive power and conditioning both crucial for the mma fighter...

  • @toxicinspector Hey Toxic - Plyometric exercises that work legs, core, explosiveness, agilty and speed (bench runs), conditioning and cardio

  • @marcroops awesome program you got, definitely gonna use this in my next workout

  • @toxicinspector well 1st of all it helps your jumping power improve as well as you get a lot more tired and faster when your knees are high and crunched. they also work the side's and your speed of avoiding and some other stuff it's good for balance as well

  • nice gym man

  • Hottt!!!

  • nice vid! il give it a try next week *subscribed!

but watchin this is funny in a way, cos the guy in it is in A1 shape!

    -ManTis

  • SOLID

  • awesome workout bro, I definitely learn a few things. that is definitely hard core.

  • I come from working the body once a week chest on mon back tues and so on but have found my endurance is weak how many times a week should you do this type of training or randys routine? Thanks

  • @jpunch do this workout 1 day

Randy the other and one of my Warrior workouts on the 3rd

One month you will be a machine

  • start doing full body workouts every other day

  • Buy the time im finished with my upper body im spent ,how many sets should you do for like say arms or chest ,also i felt like throwing up ,these workouts you guys do make bodybuilding look like kids stuff

  • @jpunch i treally depends on what kinda owrkout your doing. but i do this for chest.

    set one

    incline benchpress 170-6-8 reps supersetted with 20DB incline flys (30lb db's) X3

    then

    decline same thing

    then

    flat same thing

then dips(bodyweight+45LB) 6-8 reps supersetted with tricep extention for 20 reps

then pushups till failure 2 times one diamond one shoulder width.

the more you need to puke the better your workout was. 4 excercises 3 sets each.. sometimes more for me

  • Takes years of practise , and a well thought out diet plus routine , gota sacrifice alot to become a pro.

  • dont do it daily tho because your body needs rest , i found it best to do like shoulders and arms 1 day , chest and abs the next , legs and back then of course cardio everyday , if u do all ur body parts too much in short time the muscles dont rest enough.

  • What did you do for 2 hours? Seems like that would be on the lines of overtraining no?

  • @jpunch TRAINING FOR THAI BOXING FIGHT

USUALLY THE SESSIONS ARE A LITTLE LONGER THAN 2 HOURS

SO NO THAT IS NOT OVERTRAINING

  • @marcroops anatomically it is overtraining. sure its good to get a great workout in, but without steroids to help your body to recover, its not good to train that long. you can train a martial art for many hours a day, but working out should only be around 45 minutes, without cardio of course. and no, i am not saying steroids are good.

  • crazy training dude ! LOVE IT

  • wow love it

  • do have this on DVD. this is crazy workout . I really like it, im going to do this workout tonight
