  • I just picked one up for 250 at guitar center new. It was dropped and chipped the paint. I ran through it and looked it over, played the hell outta it to make sure it was solid...and it was. i even got the ADH warranty to cover it as new...because it is, just dropped. I'm impressed with it.

Screw the haters, your demo on here was great. You have great speed and articulation. what exercises do you do to build up the speed?

  • sick playing

  • hey man, How hard is it switch between tunings on this guitar?

  • Made in Indonezia? Korea?

  • i want to put the crunch lab and liquifire in my jp50. do i need the f spaced pickups or the normal ones?

  • @PeterOevergaard F spaced for bridge and regular space for neck

  • @patpark thanks

  • Ah, nice. Great little improvs, got a good sense of the guitar. Great stuff!

  • you fucking own

  • Hey mate,

Could you tell me what the neck is like? I'm really thinking of saving for one of these, seeing as I don't have the money for a MM, but necks have always been a deal maker for me. Anything you could compare it to, to give a vague idea of what it's like? Also, would you recommend a pickup change? I'm looking for this to last me for a longish time, so I don't mind investing in it.

Btw, awesome playing, and thanks in advance to you my good man!

  • @Doginater the neck is what sold me on this guitar. with an 800 dollar guitar budget, i came out of guitar center after 5 hours with the 350 dollar sterling by music man jp50 in sbk and a holy grail. and got to save some dough and got a sick ass guitar. i like it as much as my c1 hellraiser

  • @rockisbast no but it does have locking tuners.

  • @ogle777 he probably meant to say how it works...i mean how vibratos are, how dive-bombs are, pull-ups, etc...

  • is its body smaller than the made in USA model?

  • Amazing playing!!! Wow you are very good, would you recomend this guitar over a gibson les paul??

  • hi @patpark is a good idea to change thos humbkers of the sterling jp50 and replace them with the dimarzio's crunch lab and liquifire? i saw you use them so i am searching for an honest opinion...thanks

  • @kamilowaso the Dimarzios are great pickups and I really like them. The stock pickups are good, but the Dimarzio's really improved everything.

  • @weirdbrother15 good question about the locking tremolo system. I played this guitar in store, did some homework on it, and most music man guitars have a locking tuner system on the back of each tuning knob. This, from experience, works just as well as (if not better than) a locking nut.

  • it's basswood right? It's actually one of few basswood guitars i really like the tone. Oh and i don't like this new basswood back / maple cap combo that much

  • Maybe it is a psycological thing but I am always hesitant to buy a guitar that doesn't have the string blocking system, even if I love JP. Ibanez has that so when I bend the strings the strings don't get out of tune. What about with this guitar? Let me know.

  • dude does the bridge allow you to downtune immediately? Or you have to adjust the springs/block the trem?

  • love the sound of this guitar. great playing

  • you gotta give me tabs for 00:58-1:09

  • hey man is the colour of your guitar black?? satin or glossy?? please answerrrrr

  • The shade of the guitar changes depending on how the light hits it, goes from purple, red, black, a choclate-ish brown color, pretty neat paint-job. it's also a heavily glossed finish.

  • great player!

  • Would you highly recommend replacing the stock pick ups with liquifire and crunch lab? How does it compare?

  • Dude

your doing the same thing may of us do-- so dont fret about it ---but you play the same lead pattern over and over again.

Now that Im getting older I do it more and more--I guess because I cant remember any of the other leads I know...hahaha

anyway..I just like to point it out when I hear it so we're all aware of it.

  • @Rizzy55 thanks man! it's all good. I only know like 3 or 4 licks. Just move em around in different keys positions etc.

  • @patpark learn a natrual minor scale and then BOOM! endless licks hahaha

  • @patpark You sound great anyway haha i wish i could play like that... on my way there. got the same pickups through a line 6 SV, great sound man! cheers

  • @Rizzy55 that is why i hate posting my talent on youtube because there are a lot of immature musician such as you here on youtube who knows nothing but to find faults on talent of others. the video is all about the guitar and not showcasing a talent. for me he plays alright. if you are looking for some great playing go search for guitar virtuoso such as steve vai and petrucci

  • I have just ordered one of these guitars :D, one question... How durable are the strings, as i am predominantly a solo player, I am in need to frequently bend the strings. Also, what pickup's are you using.

  • @rickheyes0 the strings that come on the guitar are probably coated. i've never had problems with stock strings before, they've always lasted a long time. when you do replace them, try out Earnie Ball Slinkies 10s, they're pretty strong

  • would love seeing a demo of this guitar in full like a good 8 min one show how well the trem is what could be improved. and so forth and haveing it mic up with like a sm57 audix i5 and more

  • hi. i currently have a fixed bridge guitar, and while trying out on floating bridge/floyd rose guitars i had a lot of problems picking. any advice?

  • Nice dude. I just have one question, can you give me your feedback on the sterling tremolo unit. Does it have no tuning problems? coz I'm looking forward to getting one too. Thanks in advance. Rock on!!!

  • @acecepeda no issues at all. the trem stays in tune great.

  • Much appreciated Bro. I'm getting a JP50 next month. Thanks a lot now I'm pretty much sure this is going to be one of my best guitars ever. Thank you Bro... Rock on!!!

  • @patpark can you dive-bombe it real good without any troubles?

  • that was awesome

  • hello bro. Is your selector switch shakey?? because mine is. but i have no problem with that. just wanna ask good playing man

  • no it seems to be fine. it does have a little play in it, but it stays in position etc. Seems fine to me as is.

  • nice playing man and is that a floating tremelo? like can you do dive bombs?

  • yes, it is a floating trem, you can pres s down for divebombs and pull it up to raise the pitch.

  • wow did you move the pickup selector?

  • i would hit it when i strummed.

  • Superb picking!!

I really love your JP50 brother!

    -redeleon (musicman forums)

  • really good man, i can see you've spent some time perfecting that picking technique!

  • why change the pickups ? Many people says that this guitar got great pickups

  • the original pickups are fine. I just wanted to try the new Petrucci pickups. I really like the neck pickup. Very musical sounding.

  • ok thanks.

    good play anyway ^^

  • I just checked out your Sin City Impro video. Good stuff!

  • well I do do what I can ^^ thank you

  • thank you so much!! i'm getting this guitar for graduation next year and i was planning on putting those pickups in, it sounds great! just as good as Petrucci's Music Man guitars. can't wait!
