While I think they can be overrated depending on who you talk to, I still think they are great cars for the price. I can think of several cars in the same class that a Civic is better than.

@silverback1138 I think that is a matter of opinion, they are good cars for the price, but they don't hold their value very well. Only with owners who are partial to them. They are either cheaper (meaning cost of used vs cost of new same vehicle) newer cars, or they are over priced older cars.

The comment below about the header being cast into the block ? Wtf ? You obviously havent seen under the hood of a 2012 si. And 180-190 trq from a 8th gen si? Not all motor with those mods you listed, stop posting wrong info. I had a k20 in my rsx, but now upgraded to k20/24 frank. To all that read this the k24 might not have the revs, but trust me youll be alot happier. I made 222whp 192wtrq with just intake, rbc, header, stock muffler. It pulls way harder and faster then my k20.

Yall, if ur looking to buy this car to build and tune it, dont waste ur money. You can get a 8thgen Si with i/h/e/fp and make 230-240 whp and 180-190 wtq. You can even bolt on a header to this 2012 K24 because the exhaust manifold is casted into the block. You would have to change the entire head to get a good build/turbo boost. But it is a great car for a daily driver, maybe bolt on an intake and an exhaust. Its a good car, but imo the 4dr looks like a chicks car, and 2dr ass end is ugly as fk.

@ ms3 you can keep your turbos. I've had cars w/ turbos and superchargers and they are great till you blow one my last car the turbo blew up at 57000 mi and again @ 68000 costing 4500 each time. My supercharged mustang ate belts every 10000 mi. And a defective blow off valve bent 10 valves costing $2900 to fix. You can't beat all motor for reliability. P.S. I'm meticulous with maintenance and I always used Mobil 1 and babied my cars.

the new 9th gen is nice. It surely wil be better than the 8th. I own an 8th gen before and I would always have to downshift for sufficient power. Now there is enough torque at 3k rpm. For this civic they made it look more like the accord. Lots of people hate it but it is an improvement to me. The civic looks more matureand finally more tq. no more waiting for power. I will gladly get rid of the 8krpm for more toque since everyday driving requires tq not 8kjron,

I really don't like the way it looks. It looks too much like the accord wagon. The head has the exhaust manifold built in as one piece, so no header upgrade. Also the vtec is on the intake cam and not on both cams like the 8th gen k20. I don't think I'm sold on the new gen SI.

- seats are cheaper (design and material)

- VTEC is only intake side

- the exhaust manifold is cast into the block

- shifter has longer throws

Everyone I have a 2000 Acura Integra GSR with 168,000 miles. Should I sell my car or trade in for a 2012 Honda civic Si coupe/Sedan ? I want more power I think I should move up to something more. I like Honda's so I'm thinking of getting a new civic. Please let me know what you think ? I'm not sure how long my Acura Integra will last even I take good care of its maintenance yearly. Thanks !
