    you said salamat :p

  • Hi Koren, I am new to makeup and have a question. What is the best brush to use with MAC Studio Fix Foundation? Or should I use the ponge thing that comes with it? Mahalo.

  • Very informative tutorial, thank you, Koren! I have a question: does the mineral powder foundation oxidize as well?

  • Thanks for these back to basics. I have oily skin and my foundation has always slipped off, I think its because I rush through all the steps. I wish I had learned this stuff when I first started wearing makeup. And oxidizing, that always happens to me. Thanks again!

  • just an fyi: :) You have really pretty hands

  • great tip!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thanks so much! I love your videos because you give so much helpful information!

  • When I apply powder foundation, it doesn't look powdery at all when I'm through. Therefore, I set it with a translucent loose powder with a powder puff. When I use a spray, sure, it might make it look a little more stain and less matte, but I also get oily faster. Thoughts?

  • Love your work, Koren, and I think I love your intro even more! It cracks me up. ;)

Do you think at some point you could do a makeup tutorial for people who have one eye that is a tiny bit smaller than the other? I don't know how to get the right balance to make them look even in size.

Keep up the great work! Powder foundation has always been tricky for me.

  • This was extremely informative!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or does the darker of the two foundations...look like it went on the orangy side...[contouring powder side..].....looks that way in the palette too..

  • Does this apply for mineral foundation?

  • Your videos are all so informative!

I was wondering if you could also do a video on loose mineral makeup since many of us are currently into that now.

    Thank you very much!

  • does cream concealer do the same thing? because i use mac concealer and it matches my complexion perfectly but after a while it looks darker then my complexion...

  • I usea little but liquid foundation, and then powder all over my face. Will the powder still oxidize over a little bit of liquid foundation? Just want to know so when igo to buy other foundations i'll keep it in mind. :)

    Thanks!

  • @zules27 hehehe

  • Very interesting. I thought I my forehead and nose patchy because my skin doesn't like powder foundations, haha. I definitely have to invest in a good primer! Thanks Koren :)

  • @buckybaby29 yes, definitely prime it.

  • what do you think about a 15 year old using the cover fx primer due to the anti aging properties that it contains?

  • @meliful100 it wont harm young skin, it will just prevent it from free radicals. It's best to start now, and thankful 5 years in the future.

  • I'd love to go shopping with you!

  • i have very oily skin and I had no idea why my make-up kept looking darker later in the day. a make-up artist at mac said it was because i needed a primer first and it had nothing to do with my oily shin., and i believed her, back when i wasnt a make-up artist. but now that i know the formula of foundations and how to use them on my skin.

  • Wow, you are amazing & very knowledgable! Thank you!

  • Love that you're so detailed. Do you have a favorite powder foundation for dry skin? I'm African American.

    xoxoooxo

  • Thanks so much for this Koren! I recently found my FAVORITE ever foundation for my skin: The All Natural Face Mineral Powder Foundation, and I was waiting for you to do a video on this type of foundation! :)

  • I've noticed that you leave your skin oily.. I have combination oily skin and I wash twice a day to avoid leaving it oily because I thought that oil is what causes acne.. and I tend to get some breakouts. Is there a reason you like to let your skins oil stay?

  • @ndreaftw1989 yes, u want some oil on your skin, it will keep it young looking and less wrinkles. So, in a way Im thankful Im oily. And people can't tell my real age! so, that a plus LOL

  • so we should go a shade lighter for powder foundation?

  • @shuqahx3 depends on how the foundation oxidizes. If it does one shade darker, then yeah, if more, then you will have to adjust accordingly etc.

  • koren, i absolutely adore you <3 keep doing what you're doing. you make us all want to be better MUA's!

  • hide yo kids hide yo wifes

  • Blend blend blend!(:

  • how often should the foundation brush be cleaned?

    great video! luv ur stuff

  • @neko426 after every use. at least, every other day and deep clean once a week.

  • thanks for the helpful video! a question: when you set the powder foundation with the setting spray on the brush won't some of the foundation come off onto the brush?

  • @watermelon2112 nope, not if you're light handed. That's a problem a lot of people do, is being heavy handed, and there goes the foundation they just applied.

  • Great video. Thanks for explaining exactly what to do & why to do it.

  • so koren, all powder foundation companies will oxides and will get darker? mac, loreal, bobbi brown, estee lauder? all of them? i think you are the best explainer or everything you present to us. is there anything else in life that you have experience in and would like to share. i'm sure we can learn alot more from you other than make up. definitely thumbs up for this video

  • when i have combo (oily/normal) skin, and while the powder oxidizes on the oily part of your skin, then does that mean your normal skin part would need another shade of foundation?

  • @lovetoeat4ever if you want to set the MAC powder you could use their fix plus and it sould work but im not sure cuz i use the MSF natural
