  • as i was saying, anyone can put together exercises into a routine/challange, whatever and make it challenging and you may well get a sense of achievement from completing it. bravo! but have you genuinly achieved optimal results from what you have just put yourself through? havent seen one bit of crossfit that suggests so. no intelligence, no thought of energy systems, fuel sources (specific rest accordingly), let alone prescription and technique! so, whos going to have a crack at me? SHOOT

This and a large portion of the body builders i've seen is EXACTLY what gives dealing with weights a bad rep. Charles poliquin, nick mitchell, joe defranco, christian thibeudau, and yup, he has cossfit in his gym but not muppets like this, john broz. These are guys who truely get people very strong, very lean, and very HEALTHY via true intellect.

  • Crossfit has some of the best and worst technique i have ever seen for so many things, but this type of working out will make you stronger and lose weight. And for the record the really good people dont just do those random ass wods they also do conventional workouts at a normal pace.

As a chiropractor, I can tell you that CF IMPROVES joint function and CF'ers will outlive everyone else on average. You should try it bro. Very few people who really give it a shot don't LOVE it!

    Crossfit is exactly what it sounds like. Cross fitness. It's a combination of heavy lifting, kettlebell work, rope climbs, rowing, bodyweight exercises and everything else you can imagine. I do crossfit and I've gotten in incredible shape. Check out the crossfit website they post workouts everyday. If you get used to them, you can do more than one a day. The people in these videos probably do around 3 a day, but they make their own workouts

  • The concept of this type of training has been around since 50s-60s, a famous World level long distance coach--Percy Cerutty use to have his runners do powerlifting type movements at a very low rep with maximal weights as well as other exercises and regimens that even still don't reasonate with "conventional wisdom" of long distance training. It was based on Spartan and Stoic disciplines. He wrote a book many years ago on this....

  • I WAS a crossfit non-believer. Until I tried it. Relatively in shape compared to a majority of the populous. Then I did crossfit for the first time last week. It was love at first puke. It busted me through my plateau and now all my routines are crossfit based. Functionality, strength, power, endurance and much more all rolled into one?! Yes please!

  • @jmoneyhoney me too....I'm from Brazil...working out (bodybuilding) 8 years....I tried last night a super set of 10 diferents exercices of burpees = 100 rep....I should do it 4 times = 400 rep, but I felt when I got 50% of second set...it was amaizing, because I can't run (foot problem from accident)..now I found great way to loose fat and got ripped...

Doing crossfit for any considerable time period will GUARANTEE you'll have shitty joints much sooner than 60. Crossfit emphasizes SPEED--which is horrible. When going for speed and high counts, your form suffers and risk of injury is much higher.

  • @serfdomthwart No humans are masters of anything, if so, a handful alone. So you have the worlds best benchpresser, he cant run, the worlds best runner, he cant lift. A crossfitter is GOOD, if not VERY GOOD at everything, its all in one. Its without a doubt the best. if you want FUNCTIONALLY as strong of a body as possible. if you ONLY care about looks or single feats, get into bodybuilding or such.

  • @cmazzac I am very athletic, but I'd rather be more athletic with healthy joints. I think crossfit is a great program, but the pullups are useless... and half the instructors teach the wrong movements. Maybe I am biased because of all the shitty crossfit areas where I am.

  • @BeepimajeepBeep It sounds as thought you may have gone to a not so nice gym. Linguistics aside, I am sure that you are a nice person that is frustrated with himself. The people at my gym are very supportive to this 40ish crossfitter who is quite slow, but getting better! Even the young guys are very supportive and not punks. Everyone stays until the last person is finished, namely me lol!! Perhaps you will find a gym that suits you. Give Crossfit another chance!
