  • I ruptured my eardrum a guy slapped me in the ear and in the finish he had a broken nose and a bloody mouth I had a 38% hole in my left ear

  • Just perforated my ear drum surfing! Just a small perforation so im hoping it will heal well. Not a nice feeling at all! How did yours heal, has your hearing been affected much?

  • a ruptured eardrum is veeeeeerryyy VEEEERY Painful!!

  • It looks stupid since I've now seen four videos of these and in each one the person landed upside down in the water. Maybe it's me, but I don't get the point of it. Looks lame.

  • @745917203views Primarily that's because the successful videos aren't terribly interesting to watch. It's loads of fun to be on this when you get it working correctly.

  • those things are never going to catch on: they're lethal

  • Yeah, it's Granger

  • I love how on all these kite tube videos the first thing people say when people crash is "did you get that?!"

  • Well its his fault! Why didnt he hold on? Lol.

  • is this granger lake?

  • ohhhhhh ffffffffffffffffff shit

  • whats the speed?

  • @leviterande The ski's are going about 35-40mph (according to the ski's speedometers), but his speed at impact is a lot higher.

  • Pretty cool and you guy... You have balls!

  • Is he ok1?!?!! stop asking.... watch the vid he obviously died.

  • haha that tube is way to light weight!

  • thumbs up for huge random water drop!! lol

  • LOL "you ok?" "yeah" "need a beer?"

  • thats insane where do you get those lol!! :)

  • How u doin, u ok... wanna a beer?

  • the reason it is so unstable is because you are too far back on it, you need to be leaning up over the clear part. By leaning over the front you can control it form going side to side. I can ride this thing for hoursand never come down if the lake was long enough.

  • @LAMBOLAC88 If only I'd known before we cannibalized it to get the towables from the recall I would have tried that.

  • @Jebrew - you did the right thing turning it in. Lambolc88 is mistaken, this design is inherently unstable and I'd be shocked if an actual college educated engineer signed off on this design or if they put any actual R&D money into this. If people wanted to fly behind a boat they should try paragliding. These kites are purposely unstable and life threatening at any speed that you can generate the lift needed to fly.

  • The random water droplet was crazy.

  • It's a good idea you had a boat and a jet ski driving next to him, cause you know, an extra injury due to being run over is a good idea.

  • @wipenoutx Just 3 jet ski's...we don't have any boats. Also, if he'd flow the distance between the kite tube and the ski's, getting run over by a ski would have had little to no effect on his health.

  • @wipenoutx its the sides stupid and i dont know if u have ever bin tubing before u dont fall 20 feet to the side even on a kite tube.

  • i ruptured an eardrum tubing too so f fing painful

  • @lizle8141 I did just today , one of the most painful things i have ever experienced

  • @lizle8141 tell me about it

  • a beer always solves the hurt ahahahah nice landing!

  • 5 Star for the Water Drop!

  • thats wack. my buds got one of those and its badass. this guy cant fly the thing worth a shit. move your ass to the front of it and you will soar.

  • damn i was hoping he would land on the jet ski

  • Hes good just get him a beer, that always helps.

  • @xGu1ltyx

Yeah, alcohol goes good with a concussion

  • need a beer dude

  • there was this one guy that had it on our lake and he was in like 2 ft of water at least 15-20 feet up and just landed got up and was limping around

  • this vid deserves 5/5 rofl

  • "that could not felt good man...need a beer?" XD

  • dude that thing is sick

  • lol that was crazy! fuckin american cousins!! haha . still good fun till you crash on biscuits or *tubes* as you clal them lol

  • brits call them biscuits?!?! wtf

  • hell yes i need a beer

  • aren't kite tubes illigal now?

  • Yes and no. It's no illegal in the sense that you're not going to be arrested or have it confiscated or anything. It's no longer allowed on lakes controlled by the ACOE.

There was a recall for them so anyone who keeps using them can't sue the company.

  • "heresgene" kicks ass...shut up ya brits

  • hey, they should put two wires instead of one.. so it doesn't turn around

  • Actually, if you look closely, we put two extra on to try to stabilize it...it worked a little, but clearly not enough.

  • it looks like one wire that splits into Two :o

  • not bad...but the thing is unstable and shit for fluying

    thats better>

    /watch?v=2t2sEfdCGwc&feature=fvw

  • oh no attack of the water drop!!!! nice idea on taping it from the side not right behind

  • You need a beer xD

  • that happened to me just like that but i was higher

  • YOU GOT DONEEE

  • "you need a beer" classic LMAO

  • It takes a lot of facets to get these things to function well, and even then its dangerous. Expert Boater, Spotter, Boat, Length and Type of Rope, Kiter, and Wind conditions. This is not something to willy-nilly throw together and expect a great experience. It is Dangerous, but so are a ton of things that aren't near as exhilirating. Let 'em fly!!!!!

  • hell u dont need no expeert anything me and my buds take our tubes out there to kill eachother and we do. I agree with u on it being dangerous though :D. its a fuckin blast

  • fuckin great reply. you just gotta risk it all to feel alive right? push the limits, accept the consequences. adrenaline junkie.

    Y'all kick ass.

  • heresgene-

ok man you sit at come and play your video games while we live life for the fun of it, noob

  • nah, I ain't the 'noob'. See, I am one of the ones that gotta risk it all to feel I'm appreciating being alive.

But hey, 'noob' that's a good one.

Ya must be British, no self-respecting American could use 'noob'.

  • Lmao, try playing on any online game, every single american uses that fucking word "noob". In their fucking wack off annoying whiney voice!

  • Leedsmix- Son, you need to get out and live alittle. I see you've watched over 4K vids on YT since April. Good Lord Boy, come on over to Orlando, Fl and have some fun, you rich Leeds boys can afford it. You ain't light in the loafers are ya Son?

  • i saw (IN PERSON!) a guy go 20ft in the air then the fking kite flipped and.... sploosh lol

  • He needs to put some wings on that thing...

  • ... or just have a red bull first

  • lol

  • lol

  • That thing has NO stability, I'm guessing because it's a cirle shaped tubed, and if you were using a spring line that helps the tension, that's why it kept going from side to side giving some slack, and jerking it back over and over. The Manta Rays look A LOT much more stable than the Wego Tube Kites. I guess because it's so much more wide.

  • the ol manta may be more stable but the wego makes better youtube videos.

  • my sisters friend had boyfriend that did this once, rope was too long and they wer drunk,he got 50 more feet in the and the thing flipped he went head first in the wateer fracturing his spine,he is now paralyzed for life...

  • Just goes to show you... Don't kite tube.

  • Does he 'para-kite tube' now? That would be sick. Just strap him on and tear ass." Involuntary quadriplegic kite tubing, tonight, on Spike t.v."

  • they should make those things with more stability

  • that is why they are not being made anymore

  • man thats fun

  • that looks fun

  • holy fuck, that looked like it hurt

  • needa beer?

  • hahahahha "need a beer"rofl..

  • lmaooo that shit was funny

  • vat eardrum mean? i jus learn english an i no speak well. sory

  • 1:30

  • same thing happnd to me i tried a double front flip offf of a diving bord and i landed on my ear

  • haha hear the guy in the background

    "need beer?"

    ahahahahahaha

  • i always wear foam ear plugs jetskiing cut them in half

  • ouch ! !

  • my ruptured from a ear infection... that shit sucks

  • Did it hurt when he ruptured his ear drum? He said he was fine, but that sounds like it would hurt like hell.

  • I think it just felt weird because we had 3 or 4 more people ride the thing right after this video. I rode it while holding the camera (though I didn't get nearly as much air time as he did).

  • Wow

    Did he need surgery?

  • Nah, doc said he was going to have some permanent hearing loss, but he recovered just fine in a few months. No long term damage. Super lucky.

  • So lucky!

My ear drum is perforated and no signs of improving, but my hearing is okay

  • need a beer?!?! That doesnt heal a ruptured eardrumm!

  • True, but it does wonders for cutting down on the symptoms :)

  • i had a similar situation...(not the crash but the eardrum) since i had a blistero n there, it broke and the doctor said she wasn't sure is the eardrum got ruptured or the blister did. So my dad was looking up ruptured eardrums, they don't actually hurt, the infection around them does, but not the actual eardrum. Your hearing will be slightly damaged though"

    "Need a beer?

  • shut the fuck up with all the "i had a simalar situation" shit, WE DONT CARE!!!

    Need a beer? asshole

  • need a beer?

  • Wow he just lucking he didnt end up blowing his ear drum!!!! you couldnt get me to even tube on that kind of a tube cause im afraid of heights at least heights where i dont feel safe.

  • Im guessing there are so many injuries because you gotta go so fast to get that thing airborne the wake looked skinny so what was he doing 40? maybe more anyways i bet that shit hurt

  • hahaha. at 2:01."you okay? need a beer?"

  • it sucks that they stoped selling those tubes :( i wanted to buy one

  • do you have to have a certant raft to do that >?

  • We had one. It's called a kite tube...very dangerous, but fun if you don't get hurt. I prefer something less likely to break anything...check out the Sumo (you'll need the extra floatie thing for it if your tow line is low to the water (i.e. dragged by a jet ski).

  • lmfao "you need a beer" i love it

  • That tube is actually banned for being too dangerous

  • DGMARKLIN is right.

That jet ski driver should not have been trailing the tuber. That could have been REALLY bad.

  • that didnt look that bad.

  • 2/8/2008 was my 14th birthday.. sweet :D

  • Its all fun and games till someone gets hurt...

    That seriously had to hurt!

And just a suggestion, tell that jet ski to not ride there, he could have run over the tuber!

  • Who the guy in the background, or the ski I was on? We were both off to the sides a good 20 ft. out...then again, with how quickly that thing rises and plummets, it could have launched him into us!

  • The guy in background. I was just thinking how quick how he could be thrown into the impeller!

  • Nah, he was pretty far out to the side. At least as far as we were (I'm the camera man). Also, the grates on the impellers are pretty sturdy, you'd certainly get some awful damage getting run over, but not as bad as a boat.

  • lol a buddy of mine said the same thing except he was the one who wiped out

  • lololololoollolololoololololololololollololololololololololhahahahahhahahahahha JK really not funny at all

  • lol "need a beer"

  • I don't think this was designed with you in mind.

  • lol i love at the end there " u need a beer?" beer sure does fix everything

  • yeah, whoever was driving that boat

try to be more aware? lmfao...

  • ive ruptued my ear drum before

  • i ruptered mine twice.

  • hahahahah I love the video title :D

  • ouch, nice wipe dude

  • fucking waterdrop!!!

  • that..... was awesome.

  • Jebrew, did ur friend get really hurt or something??

  • Yeah, he ruptured his ear drum. They said he'd have permanent hearing loss in that ear (they said about 25% loss), but he made a full recovery.

  • Yea. Doctors make alot of rash, BS predictions.

  • yo thats asowme

  • Wow! I remember seeing this on TV!

  • Awsone right?????!!!!!

  • Yeah!

  • It looks cooler on TV.

  • Agreed...maybe I should have edited it before posting. Next time.

  • Try to make a video that involves with falling from a boat or something. Then like youir friend will splash into the water. Maybe your friend later on will say it was like hitting concrete.

  • are they lawfull? in the U.S.

  • Sort of, you can have one, buy/sell them, but they're banned from most lakes...then again, so is alcohol, but try to find a boat that doesn't have people drinking beer and you'll have found an empty boat.

  • As seen on World's Most Amazing Videos: Wicked Wipe Outs

    Aired on 2/8/2008

  • There is no "correct" way to use these tubes. They're dangerous. There is no way to channel the air stream to create stability. That's why when the Delta wing came along, they quit flying the old widowmaker flat kites at Cypress Gardens back in the 70's. No control=bad day at the lake.

  • ha ha you want a beer...

  • Looks like that must have hurt

  • duude i ruptured my eardrum too

  • I wish I could find a lake around where I live like yours. That lake looks perfect. Not rough and no waves.

  • theres a reason why they suggest a 25mph limit. if you can balance the wego correctly, you can still get 20+ feet of air @ 25mph.

  • It was hard enough getting it to plane at 25mph, the nose wasn't going to lift at that speed. By the time he's skipping along the water in the video we're doing almost 50.

  • my bad, i guess its just a bad design then. i use my buddy's manta ray and it glides like a charm

  • I've heard the manta is a bit better, but there are some pretty wicked videos of awful crashes on that as well. Generally speaking it just seems like kite tubing is difficult and dangerous...which leaves it in the same realm as trial bikes and kite boarding for me...nice, but not my style.

  • yeah its the "smart" people who decided 25 meant 50 and got them banned.

  • you should be wakeboarding on that water

  • damn straight

  • SCARYYYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice hair. Hold my beer and watch this!

  • I hope your friend's ear if doing better. I am very sorry he has 25% ear loss. What ear was it again? Does he ever get dizzy? I hope he is well buddy. What do you guys do for a living?

  • Yeah, he's doing better. We're heading out today to try out the towables we got from the recall of the kite tube. They look pretty entertaining...if anything interesting like this happens, I'll post :)

  • yeah im sure you guys were going the recommended speed limit of 25... its when people dont follow ALL of the safety tips that people get hurt. that and i probably wouldnt have gone out on a windy day like the one in this video

  • 1. The kite tube won't get airborne at 25mph...it'll barely reach plane at that speed.

    2. it wasn't windy, we'd had it out on windy days and it's just too scary

  • Well, I hope he learned his lesson. I am sorry he has 25% hearing loss. Water is friendly or deadly to all mankind. I use to work on the medical field. I would not recommend your friends try this again. Just a caring note to help out another human being.

  • why is one of the first thing you say after is "need a beer" losers........

  • I thought it was pretty funny. At least he wasn't laughing at him. While playing racketball, my buddy tore his ACL and I laughed at him for a while. He got up and whooped my tail in 3 games immediately afterwards (with the torn ACL!!!). The doctor couldn't understand how he did it and I was completely embarrased. I should have just offered a beer to ease the pain. ;)

  • jesus niiice water.

  • I ruptured my rectum. Very painful. Very messy.

  • those are danger!!!

  • I am glad he is still alive. A lesson learned.

  • Hmmm...I saw these things for the first time and thought, "this looks like a whole lot of fun." Then I noticed the thing had no dihedral, so it would not stay upright, and then I read about the lawsuits...and did not get one.

  • We tried to add a bit of stability by attaching two more ropes about 20 degrees out from the central lashing, but as you can see, it didn't do much. Just before he flips over, you can actually see all three ropes.

  • Not smart. Those are dangerous. How is his ear drum?

  • Looks like it's going to be a permanent 25% hearing loss for life. Aren't kite tubes fun? :)

  • I recommend not doing this sort of thing again. Yeah. Live and learn, I guess. Hey, did the ear drum heal?

  • He says it's not as bad as it was, but things are still a bit muffled in that ear. Yeah, we're just waiting on some better options on the Wego trade-in before we get rid of it. It was a blast when you didn't get hurt though.
