@Riggro Only if you plumb it in right , min distance you want to connect to the exhaust is 18" or you get Turbulence which will create Back pressure , killing your turbo's spool up time. Depending on your MAP sensor plumbing into your air box maybe the best bet, just have a good CC your your looking at some heat soak going on. Just my OP

@Ctsmith18 RICE: race inspired cosmetic enhancements. hks bov has a changeable piece inside that alters the noise but not the performance... rice. Personally I'm a VW guy but I know what subarus are all about, I helped my friend build his, and I've driven a tuned sti. To answer a few questions... 1.I highly doubt he has a flame kit on his STi so...Yes the flames were from back firing 2. The sound you hear isn't just the turbo alone but he's obviously installed a blow off valve as well. My guess would be the HKS SSQV judging by the "chirpiness". 3. Those are not bug eye lights at all but it appears he has HIDs in the stock enclosure. But more importantly this is a guy driving his STi the way it's built to be driven... sideways and in circles. PROPS BRO!

2.5 isnt stock, its a 2.0 stock, reason being in Rally your only allowed 2.0 engines, so it was a swap.

The reason that Subarus sound so deep is because they have have the big 4 cylinders in them. Each cylinder is almost twice the size as normal.

@Carlover169 no this is not true. The classic subaru rumble is largely a result of two factors: 1) exhaust bore size 2) unequal length exhaust headers. Non-turbo subarus have equal length exhaust headers and so don't have the characteristic subaru burble. Turbo'd engines with standard smaller bore exhausts & cats will mask the sound quite a bit. De-catting and larger bore exhaust will release the sound that you hear in this video.

@arumdevil The size of the cylinders may make a difference compared with smaller engines, but 0.5 litre per cylinder is a pretty standard size, and certainly not the largest (saabs have 2.3 litre 4 cylinder engines for example and porsche 944 had 2.5L 4 cylinder. Some saabs had a similar burble but that was also due to the header design).

Twin turbo subaru legacys have the classic burble on single turbo, but once it switches the headers are effectively equal and the burble is less evident.
