This was my favourite game when i was young, really brought back many memories of me and my brother.. haha ... remember the times we used to quarrel over who cheated or not.
im telling you.. this sheat was ahead of everything it looks like a 128 bits game! and for the least 64 bits! the play,(playstation, that´s how we call it in southamerica) would´nt never, ever show this kind of graphics.. simply wonderful, it just got better with the v. f. 3 turbo
This game is wicked. I think the controller programming on it was some of the best ever. It's a fast-paced game. There were some awesome combos, some of them rather complicated. I could do some wild moves with the Ninja and the Drunken Master. The power meters are more like MK than Street Fighter: less hits, more damage. In my opinion, the control is smoother than MK Deadly Alliance. Jumbo screen on this in the arcade was always occupied by people. So I played Killer Instinct instead.
What a great game... I played the prequel, a few days ago I bought this one from another player... I'm really, really looking forward to playing it! The video clearly shows that it runs faster than many games I play on my PS3! Retrogaming... I love you XD
Not sure if anyone ever knew this but If you use Lion and use that grab move where you knock the enemy off their feet right on the edge of the ring and it counts as a ring out, the enemy will get back up and do his little taunt thing. Just a funny little glitch I found when playing the hell out of it back in the day. Old school SEGA 4 LIFE!!!!!!
Heck without Street Fighter some people may have never got into video games. When I was young, I remember so many kids at school wanted a Super Nintendo so they could play Street Fighter 2 at home. My cousin bought one for that reason alone! I waited for the SCE to come out on megadrive instead, being a Sega boy.
Haha, i have to disagree my friend. Street Fighter Alpha 2, is the best SF game. When it comes to depth in a fighting game, VF wins. Ive been playing VF2 over 10 years now, and am quite a skilled player with Lion. But there would be some pro Japan players that would wipe the floor with me in seconds. Ive still got so much to learn. Thats why VF2 is the greatest fighting game ever. A skilled player will always win over a novice. Or as you kids like to say nowadays a "noob"
Still looks spectacular! The Saturn's hi-res mode is really amazing to see. It's such a shame there wasn't a flood of similar games that followed VF2, Sega Rally and Virtua Cop. It was very frustrating to be a Saturn owner back then. Today, of course, you can just burn and play all the discs from Japan and have a blast.
It's too bad Sega failed with Saturn/Dreamcast , but I feel that they 'milked' the Genesis for too long and failed to concentrate on the future. They kept looking at their success "Genesis" and made a dozen or so add-ons like the Sega CD/32x. They took the initially successful Genesis and the add-ons made it a failure , tarnishing their reputation for good. Big , big big mistake.
@modewr Yes, I agree. In my reading, Sega collapsed from bloat and excess - SCD, 32X, Pico, CD-X, Nomad, the Saturn architecture. This helped to bring about the fall of the Arcade Games dominance on consoles. Playstation moved in and ushered the transition to the Cinematic Games Era. It's only now with the Nintendo Wii that Arcade Games are retaking the console arena. The fall of Saturn had terrible consequences for videogames. VF2 - now THIS is what a console game should be!
@gamesDAMNED : You are 100% correct. The only drawback to having a Wii is that it is essentially an updated Gamecube with a powerglove-like gimmick xD
Lol this brings me back, i was one of the kids who got sega saturn before i got PS1 back in the day, This and Panzer Dragoon alone made it a must buy.
@ax3ninja. just look at the speed the game runs at. tekken seemed like a slug compared to VF2. not to mention the crispness of the visuals, it ran at 60 fps for crying out loud and it was a Sega Saturn game. one of the greatest games of all time and the greatest fighting game of all time. if you cant tell, im quite the fan!
I just read someone saying that they thought this was on par with tekken at the time... I thought i'd check it out, but now I'm convinced they were joking.
