  • I hear that horn on cn up cp and sometimes bnsf

  • NBEC/CFMG (Ex CN SD40) had this kind of Airchime too I think. Some had Nathan K3L, but most of their units (SD40) had Nathan K3H.

  • Where can I get my hands on a set of K3H's like that?

  • That k3 prolly came from CN or a CP unit.

  • sand or die cast?

  • i think the horn is of a sp dash9 i think

  • Thats sweet, Ontario Northland has those on it's SD75I

  • I like how this video has zero dislikes. Just like it should

  • Are you using a solenoid valve? Or a manual valve?

  • thats like the ideal train horn

  • Reminds me of the days when CP SD40-2's stilled ruled the Rockies. Nice echo, and well tuned K3H. I ran CN SD40u 6010 the other night, and it still has the K3H tuned like yours, well done!

  • This type of horn is very typical for CN and CP rail....... Nathan K3H is used on many of those engines

  • great K3...quick question.i have a K3Hor K3HA not really sure...it has the 1 2 4 bells...the 4 bell doesnt have a the A on it...and i know its not a K3HA because a K3H and a K3HA sound very different..what horn do i really have....1 2 4 bells...please respond

  • you have a HA. a K3H has bells 1,2 and 3. a K3HA has bells 1 ,2 and 4a or in some production periods 4.

  • shut up foamtard, your car couldn't handle a horn like that, the subaru horn I gave you nearly flips your car over

  • holy fuck ide love that on my truck !

  • I would be interested in knowing what compressor buddy was running? That looked like a 60 gallon tank in the back he must of had a compressor running of the crank pulley in order to supply that volume.

  • Thats my rig. It has a 110 gallon tank in the back. and nope it doesn't have a on board compressor. I fill it up and go.

  • @CSX700 what kind of valve you use? gramhy white?

  • I would love to hook up my PRR 4 chime steam whistle, I think that would sound awesome as much as thoses horns.

    Len.

  • Sweet.

  • K3H undoubtedly from a CN or CP engine

  • That horn reminds me of when I went railfanning in Canada at Bayview Junction. It was a quiet zone, but some of the trains blared their horns for us. There were no echoes like this, though.

  • Nice echo at the end. I love the minor chord of that horn! It's so beautiful!

  • I would say it came from the CP. Nice horn!

  • Do you own a K5H? Well if you do own one,PLEASE do a runby with it!!!! I absolutely LOVE the echo of those things.(CSX700)

  • I do own a K5H now. Just bought it. Still restoring it. WIll be done in a few weeks.

  • It's a Canadian version of the K3LA
