this is horrible. why should a woman who was kidnapped and held in captivity prove she is chaste? i beleive she was deity. i did some checking about the story. and 4 the king to be God- why would he do that to his wife? isnt he God, shouldnt he be knowing it all? simply doesnt make sense.

@ainnhana it is more complicated than that. In hinduisim they say everything has a reason and everything that happens to one is based on their actions in the past life. yes, the king was god and the queen was a goddess too. they say that both of them knew the truth but had to play those roles for the sake of the humans. the queen died and went back to heaven and a few years later the king-god died and went back to heaven too..thus fulfilling their role. this is the story. not my personal belief.
