  • The old highlander hybrids are much faster.

  • Lucky you ... You have 2008 model. Do not buy 2006/2007 models because they have faulty power inverter that costs 6000$ to buy

  • @StevenBTT haha godo point

  • lol, faster than a honda civic si haha

  • Thumbs up if u dont like the new CVT transmission

  • is it really 443 Hp combined ? haha

  • @wongmylesa no not that much i own one but trust me its quick ive dusted v6 mustangs and this shit goes ive had it to 125 easy

  • @jakebrian12345 Bahahaha! Nicee :D

So i guess that both the electric motors and the engine never go into full power at the same time?

  • @wongmylesa when you floor it from a stop it takes a sec for the engine to get going but then the electric motor kicks in and it has a nice high pitch sound to it. So both will go into full power the elecric only gives it like 50 more hp then the regular. However if they only had the electric kick in right from the start this car would be alot faster!!! ill try and post a vid of the screen in the car showing if the electric and engine are on and full power.

  • yuck i hate cvts

  • to bad no one is going to buy them cuz of the recal

  • ew cvt

  • Figman, ever heard of a continuously variable transmission?

  • I've got a 2007 and its got 268hp and weighs less. Does 0-60 as the factory says in 6.8

  • @Turkeysitar I've got a video up that shows it

  • When the first Highlander hybrids came out they had 50-60 more HP than these ones..

  • wth is that "gear" thing?

  • It's one variable gear...

  • What are you talking about?

  • no gears.....

  • 0-60 in 8 secs, not bad

  • Sounds pretty good for a toyota.

  • that thing is fast

  • Wow not bad for a Hybrid SUV doing around 7+ seconds to 60mph.

  • i cant stand CVTs...

  • I totally agree

  • @wannadrift99 I agree, no satisfaction at all when driving.

  • highlander. whats that clacking sound at the begining?

  • i think he was puting it in gear my tundra makes that noise when i put it in gear but im guessing its the plastic piece inside.

  • which is faster? highlander h or camry h ?

  • hahaha thats pretty fast

  • thats freaken cool, cvt's are awsome.

  • 1-3 bars efficent crusing speed

    4-5 bars efficent acceleration speed

beyond 5 bars, your wasting mpg

  • When my dad bought the highlander, he did not know about CVT transmission, he thought that was damaged

  • What gauge is on the left?

  • i believe the bars show how much energy is put to the wheels, and the pointer shows how much rpm of the electric motor.

  • It indicates the power from car's hybrid drivetrain that is hitting the wheels at a given moment.

Keep the needle in the blue sector and the car slows down recovering braking energy and putting it temporarily into the battery to be used when during the next acceleration/.

  • The Bars indicate where it thinks the needle should be as its an efficency gauge [read it on their website]

The needle is how many KW/H it uses and as others are saying how much power is being outputted. Blue area where the needle will fall is when the vehicle is recharging
