@milamonster From theatrical supply stores and websites :) Mine were from Charles Fox, but you could even find very cheap ones off eBay which would do the job just as well :)

@bluecar707 Depends on whether the would is exit or entrance, power of gun, type of gun, how close they were shot from...If you're thinking of doing this for a film, research types of bullet wounds.

Do you use the spirit gum as an adhesive for the derma wax?

@erinfrank86 Yep, I find it helps it to stay better than just blending the wax straight on to the skin.

is it possible to use candle wax for this effect if you cool it down?

@LeslieNstrat No - unless you want to risk burns! You need to be able to mould it into your skin and candle wax sets too quickly. Plus, it would dry hard and flake off, whereas derma wax stays flexible.

another Q. will the wax peel off if you dont use spirit gum?

hey great vid,ive used wax but not for long,and i used latex for a zombie look but it started to peel off, so im thinkin of using wax tomorro nite. as the wax gets soft with the heat from skin will this peel off if i use it? im gnna have my makeup on all night n dont want it to peel like my latex did

The wax is very soft, so it will come off/ become mishapen if it isn't sealed in with a couple of coats of latex. Spirit gum gives extra security, I highly recommend using it if you want long lasting make-up.

Thanks, all of the products are really cheap too. You can get a hefty tub of wax for about £4, and near Halloween you can get little tubs for cheap too.

Hi, I've never used Mehron synwax since it's easier for me to get Kryolan products near where I live. If you look up cosplay and halloween forums I'm pretty sure you could find the information on there though.

I found images of real and SRX bullet holes and figured how to recreate them with what I have. Once you're used to how different products work, it's easier to recreate different FX works.
