  • loved this song on the finale of this classic movie.i was 14 when i 1st hear it.all people should watch this movie.i glad some1 had this part of this masterpiece.

  • The americans didnt fight and die for their freedom they invaded another country because they didnt like their system!

Im english too but fuck the queen and the whole family! And your an idiot if u think our boys are fighting for our freedom! Grow up, open ur eyes and take a proper look at the world!

  • i think it was horrible when the american troops went home from nam they were booed and bullied and had things thrown at them, what kind of country would do that to the men and women who fought and died for there freedom and protection. weather they won or lost it shouldnt matter you should never boo a solider of combat for doing his duty and protecting the freedom of there nation. im English and ive got the utmost respect for any British solider that fights for my freedom! god save the Queen!

  • Love this movie it, gives me shivers down my back and when they recite the rifle creed it takes me back to boot.....

  • usmc for life hail the marine corps

  • Great video.

  • did you know Mickey Mouse in the military means "Anything that is unnecessary or unimportant" i think Kubrick picked this song to give a little political message about the Vietnam world

  • @SandmanJr7 for real?i didnt know this, thanks.wow,i didnt know this.

  • @capps4242 its not an army its Marines. Army and Marines are different

  • if i saw an army marching towards me singing this with burning buildings in the background i would shit myself senseless

  • I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

  • can i get a thumbs up for no reason at all?

  • if in was a viet cong, this would scare the living hell out of me

  • I love this film know it word for word

  • JROTC SHOULD SING DIS ! !

  • Vietnam Vet here 1968-69; Nha Trang AB, RVN, Buck Sergeant.....we sang the "Robert Hall" song (an old department store long out of business)...we were kids who missed our Saturday Morning Cartoons....we were kids playing war.

  • this mickey mouse song out beats the original

  • One lacks the seconds strofe going in a fade, its starts like 'boys and girls' but rythms differently at the end.. Will the be a Full Metal Jacket II ?

  • Great soundtrack for an apocalyptic setting.

  • The best war movie my father say it's too violence with too blood but a i don't give a fuck this movie is realistic and it is the beautiful thing

    WONDERFUL MOVIE

  • 4+ people didn't have their names nailed into the pages of history that day. They aren't members of the club that's made for you and me.

  • I've just saw on TV

  • Lol most songs in the core dont make sense at all pure for motivation .

  • My favorite film ending

  • @CharlieSpeary I thought Der untergang was a love story?

  • That was a beautiful ending.

  • Amazing movie loved it I wish more of my friends liked this movie

  • We Sung this on board the USS Enterprise. Not everybody, but a very big handful of us.

  • @PayneProdutions my stepfather was on the Enterprise now hes on the USS Lincoln CVN72 its over in the gulf of adain. GO NAVY

  • 1:20 and 1:40 look at the background and tell me if that image reminds you something, the only thing came to my mind is WTF ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • @DaV084

Oh! I see it. It's just a coincidence, but that's still really weird.

  • @DaV084 woah, crazy...

  • @DaV084 if the twin towers were still up, it would look like a NY wasteland under martial law.

Just an interesting thought brought by your good comment.

  • The song seems to fit as a parody of the whole song-and-dance the military usually does to convince naive young adults into enlisting.

This seems to be in lieu with punipunipunisher's comment.

  • @tobs001 no its disney, they are brainwashing us

  • @rpgfreak92787 GASP!! You were right!! After watching this video I HAD to go to disneyland 4 times and i watched The Lion King 32 times on loop because DISNEY is good.

  • Woulda probably been scary as hell for any Vietnamese nearby.... an army marching in the dark... heavily armed and cheerfully singing some incomprehensible song.... They must have seemed like monsters.

  • jarhead is a remake of this

  • This song is sex!

  • Mickey Mouse represents wholesome attitudes of a perfect wholesome Utopian society amidst chaos. But, also it's a connection between them and their family back home.

  • Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me? M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. Hey there. Hi there. Ho there. You're as welcome as can be. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. Mickey Mouse. (Mickey Mouse.) Mickey Mouse. (Mickey Mouse.) Forever let us hold our banner high. High. High. High. Come along and sing a song and join the jamboree. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. Here we go a-marching and a-shouting merrily. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. We play fair and we work hard and we're in harmony. M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E.
  • Mickey Mouse. (Mickey Mouse.) Mickey Mouse. (Mickey Mouse.) Forever let us hold our banner high. High. High. High. Boys and girls from far and near you're as welcome as can be. • Awesome.

  • Why would Joker be happy he's short?

Worried about getting his head taken off with a 50 cal?

    I know I would be. :\

  • @bentricky "Short", "short-timer" - he's soon to be out of Viet Nam.

  • This song........ is so..... EPIC!!

  • Why did they sing a mickey mouse song in a warzone

  • @ErzincanliMehmetcik why not??

  • @ErzincanliMehmetcik because they are badass! lol

  • @ErzincanliMehmetcik I think its showing that even though they were just fighting and killing, they're all still kids, as goofy as it may be its a very deep scene. One of the many tragedies of The Vietnam Conflict is how young some of the guys fighting were.

  • nahh the ending is like in lord of the flies where ralh "wept for then end of innocence and the drkness of mans heart" this is their way of mourning their loss of innocence

  • Dude, if I was the enemy and saw a whole platoon of soldiers coming at me singing, i'd be like wtf?

  • @beta0blaster yeah it would be surreal and terrifying. I'd think they were fearless/brain washed/insane.... Would rather deal with regular soldiers than any of those variations lol

  • STANLEY KUBRICK !!!

  • they sing this song because they lost their chldhood?

    sick ass movie btw

  • @664TijuanaMX No, its because nobody can take away their innocence in my opinion. Mickey Mouse Club, I think represents part of America's post-war dignity. All the baby boomers watched that show and kids are what USA became all about. When this war happened, it reignited tensions their parents had against Japan during World War II. Only now, it wasn't on US soil that the kids were being attacked but on foreign land when we were kind enough to send them to help fight their own war with Commies.

  • @664TijuanaMX In Vietnam Mickey was the symbol of "Mickey Mouse shit" - stupid things the POGs (Persons Other than Grunts, especially the rear-echelon officers and the military police) do or (try to) make them to do.

  • Sick classic War film 10/10

  • 134 paintball431 is right every guy or kid like myself should see it

  • my favorite movie

  • I'm in a world of shit, yes. But I am alive. And I am not afraid.

  • Just watched the movie. Classical GOLD.

  • i herd this was a real vietnam american march used to raise moral is that true?

  • Classic part

  • i love animal mother. hes cool.

  • why did they end up singing this? out of all songs, why mickey mouse?

  • @jhat25 :A Juxtaposition in mood and setting;Kubrick was a master of this and maybe Kubrick's own degree of pessimistic-humour at work. The horror and spoils of war in contrast to the loss of innocence.

  • why not?

  • It is kind of irony I guess - fire all around and such a nice song - Marine sence of humour ( i think it is good :D).

  • because they all grew up listening to it as kids. they all know it and cause its fucking awesome epic

  • They didn't really. (Probably). Kubrick, the Director wanted to pay tribute to all of the 18-year old draftees in 'Nam through this song, emphasising how many young Americans died over there.

  • Its supposed to symbolize that through all the hell of war that even tho they have been turned into killing machines they have turned to there childhood memories and are reverting to an almost child like state if you know what that means.

  • Absolutely creepy. I bet if you speak to veterans they can confirm this never happened.

Then again, I still like this seen for some reason.

  • For some reason, I actually wouldn't be suprised if that actually had happened.

    In war, everything can happen.

    Hypothesis;

The more fucked up the event is, the higher propability it has to occur during the war.

  • Classic !

  • Saw this on TV the other day, without question one of the best films I have ever seen.

  • this song is in disney's dance dance revolution

  • does anyone know the significance of this song in the movie

  • yeah, it represents the contrast between the brutality of the war with the innocence which they lost in doing the things they did

  • why do i get a thumbs down for an opinion?

  • because the feature is there for people to give an opinion on yours?

  • i guess you have a pont

  • they also blocked ur opinion repost it lol

  • Yeah, your right, a movie about Army Rangers, and Army Airborne, or one about Army rangers and army delta is a Marine movie.

  • the army dont got shit on the marines

  • I didnt say they had, just saying that Saving private Ryan and Black hawk down werent about the USMC

  • haha my bad..

    sorry...

  • Black Hawk Down is The Rangers which is part of The Army also There was Delta which is also Army so your defiantly wrong

  • moron

  • this is an anti war flim, i guess that's why they put this kind of stuffs in.

  • reality?

  • Definitely in my top 5 but why were they singing that at the end?

  • Its supposed to be a joke (I believe), because I know that (at least the Army) has a version of that song that is goes: F-&-%-!-E-D A-G-A-I-N

  • Oh. Still a pretty impressive ending. lol Army sang Fucked Again?

  • Certainly not officially... But just like any good military song, the men make their own version of civilian songs, especially children's and religious songs.

  • Yeah. Don't drill instructors make up the cadences? Make up different words for different lyrics?

  • Not only Drill Seargents, anyone who has the urge to make their own cadence can make one, there is definately no set "Have-To" as far as that is concerned.

Listen to "BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC"

Then listen to "BLOOD UPON THE RISERS"

  • yes it fucking is

  • this movie is fucking epic~!

  • love this movie

  • I wish it could go on youtube the whole movie every other place I've seen it in is bad quality or buffering. I really wanna see this awsome movie!

  • can you write the entire lyrics please

  • @DarthXendor "Come along and sing a song and join the jamboree.

  • This has to be up there as one of the best films ver made and is definatly the best war film made.

  • great film...

  • Great movie!

And thanks to the women of Uncle Ho!

Look them up on the Internet...

  • They are all the same age, same culture and have selected this song as it is something they can all relate too. Lets not forget that the average soldier in this war was a teenager, so this song is also used to depict the loss of innocence of a group of young men. Some of them could have been singing this song in front of a tv 3 years previously.

  • Best Scene EVER!!!

  • erect nipple wet dreams...

  • ok I am army but I don't understand why in this movie at the end they chose the mickey mouse song for the ending of this movie. Just wondering is this just a Marine thing to sing that at the end of this movie? j/w if there are any jar heads out there that can explain that to me or answer me that question i would appreciate it.

pvt white 3bde us army national guard

  • I thought it was just saying they are no longer scared.. they are comfortable with being their and being in a war.. And they are singing a kids song loud because they are not scared.. They are just doing what they want to do now..

    You know..

  • Some soldiers of that war thought it was a joke. Something stupid and dumb, like mickey mouse.

  • Well friend, I am no soldier but I think they choose that song for the purpose of a comparaison of Vietnam and Disney Land. Just like they had some fun there. Maybe this is their manner to avoid crazyness from war, to keep their mind clear of the seen horrors. Or maybe they are singing this song because they are somekind of club themselves.

  • i think fullyski86 has truth here man :)

"Who's the leader of the club that's made for you and me?"

    M-I-C - K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E.

  • My first thought was that they were singing it since it's an American civilian song, because they miss Home, etc.

  • The way I looked at it was even after this war they're still able to keep their childhood innocence

  • Lol!! one of my favorite parts in the movie

  • M.I.C.K.E.Y
