Gary Richrath the guitarist was/is the shit.I dont know what caused the split with REO BUT THE DUDE IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAV GUITARIST "THE WILD TURKY TROT" IS PERHAPS ONE OF THE GREATEST SOLOS OF ALL TIME right up there with "ERUPTION" the new or latest guitarist with REO is kick ass, BUT GARY IS THE SHIT....THANKS GARY FOR THE MUSIC and REO T.W.O. one of the best REO albums of all time!!! I think any so called "artist" should be humble enough NOT to try and come back after 30 - 40 years. Their vocal chords do not stand the test of time and it shows as they starin to do what they used to do. Their voices are usually covered up by instruments to disguise the inadequecy . No matter who the band is, rarely do you ever get the same quality or even close.
lets face it.......kevin and gary need to bring REO back,,,,,nuttin wrong w/ole boy singin just a matter of gary and kevin makin it real one more time.......jmho

We Love Gary's Band. My husband and I went to see them play at a local pub in Rochester, Indiana back in the 90"s It was the best fricken time ever! We still play the C.D. and love every song. So where is Gary now?

When he'd be home to see family, He would usually play at a local club!! His brother took him to bar we use to hang out at. The band just happen to be playin Back on the Road Again! When they finished Garys brother ask the band if his brother could set in for a song! They found out real quick who his brother was! Gary said lets do the same song I'll show ya how I like to play it!! Those kids In the band about flipped! To answer your question Yea Galesburg is only 45 mins. away if you drive fast.
and the singer is playing a 12 string ovation viper...wow...So gary hired a wannabe Kevin!!! Without the voice and character....
