The movie completely killed me. I've once read and loved the book so much that I used to end up with a teary eyes whenever I thought about it. And the movie did the same magical to me, even with some part that is completely the opposite side of the book.

@santigue1994 BUT the end of the book (the youngest dying) is ment to be horrible. Jodi writes with a cunning ability to grasp at the writers emotions, the youngest dying was the unexpected. It's trying to say that, everyone will die. Everyone expects the sister with cancer to, but she doesn't. Everyone dies, and whether it's from a car crash, old age or cancer it's all horrible.

I just saw this. And all i could think of was my mum through the whole movie. She is a teacher, and a 7 year old girl in her class died from cancer last december. She watched it in her bedroom when it was on tv and when it was over i gave her a hug and she said, i think it was still too soon to watch that. while i was hugging her she was crying and She told me about the last time she saw this girl she said she wanted to give my mum a kiss and she did and that was the last she saw of her :(

I honestly thought that this movie was just going to be another sob story that has no story to it what so ever. But boy was I wrong! This is heartbreaking in every way, and the story is fantastic as it's not just about the fact Katie has cancer, its so much more. This is a must see for those who are not embarrassed to cry in front of others and for those that love a fantastic film! 10/10 Stars, one of the best films I have ever seen! I could go on for years and years but I dont have space!!!!

The endings for the movie and books are different *SPOILER* In the book, Anna wins her court case, then while driving to the hospital with her attorney, they are in an accident. Anna is brain dead, and her lawyer, who now has power of attorney, gives permission for her kidney to be given to Kate. Kate then makes a full recovery and goes into remission.*SPOILER* Kate dies.
