The whole reason of recording and producing a song is to record it at it's absolute peak.

Live songs may "feel" better. But they never sound it.

@soyousay18 It depends. If they play the song exactly the same live then the recorded version will be better. It can't be topped. But a band like the chili peppers for example add new parts to songs and play solos different live sometimes. That type of live playing can make songs better live because they give them a whole new dimension. In my opinion, that is what great live bands do.
