WHAT THE F??!! WOW, way to steal the title and idea from a documentary already made. Ever heard of Andrew McAuley?? and/or the documentary SOLO: LOST AT SEA?? In 2007 Andrew McAuley attempted to KAYAK from Australia to New Zealand. Unfortunately he died less that 30miles from his destination. I'm not trying to knock or belittle what you've done.. but damn I think you could have at least picked a different title.
A quick Google search reveals that the film - which I have seen - was only called Solo in the US and Australia and when released and screened on TV in the UK it was called 'Solitary Endeavour on the Southern Ocean'. I take your point, but filming yourself rowing across an ocean is not 'stealing an idea' and using the word 'solo' when that word is in the name of the sport (solo rowing) is not stealing a title. If Dave had died would you have accused him of copying that idea too?
@7twatwaffle7 The accusation you level would be laughed at by Andrew McAuley himself.
He didn't invent solo anything - the doc about his final voyage is certainly named that, but dude - it's a common term for the sport they're involved in!
Yes made it! Took 83 days. I have only just completed the video and will get it on for download soon. (life and work took over a bit). I'm half way through writing a new book too. My first book An Ocean Away by Dave Clarke is available on Amazon. Its about when I sailed from UK to Barbados in the early 90s. It was in an 18 foot sloop and took 3 years, good read whether you are into to sailing or not. Dave Clarke
Thanks for the update Dave and to your sister for the link, lol. I told my Mom about your journey as I was following your route, she wished she had internet to follow along as well. I'll be looking for your documentary when it's available for purchase. She's turning 75 this month and I know she'll love to watch your journey, as will I. I'll ask Dy to keep me posted. Thanks again.
Looks incredible dave. Would love to read the book. Pat.

I wonder did he make it? Seeing that this video is over a year old is why I am wondering because I don't see a second video.
