I had a small heart attack last month (I believe it was the smoking ban which caused this), I have spent many thousands of hours over the last two years researching and trying to bring the truth forward that there is no significant epidemilogical evidence that second hand smoke is harmful, my first success was finding HSE OC255/15 in Feb 2007, which I used to complain of an advert on SHS, to the ASA this coincided with the NHS pulling their Pre ban £10,000,000 advertising campaign in March.

UKIP are the only party, who have said the smoking ban is an infringement of peoples rights, in a free society it would be up to bussiness owners to decide if they wish to be smoke free or not and public services should cater for all and not be allowed to discriminate against smokers, but as councils are told what to do by central Government and bodies such as LACORS send them instructions of what is expected of them, the whole sysem is now centrally based, councils have no independant freedom.

HSE OC255/15 is still available (under the freedom of information act) I got the HSE to send me a copy, after they attempted to cover it up by producing HSE OC255/16 which omitted the part I quote "HSE cannot produce epidemiological evidence to link levels of exposure to SHS to the raised risk of contracting specific diseases" they also got Google to remove their HTLM copy which shows they even have control over Google, people have said to me Google would not do that it is not ethical.

The Scientific committee on tobacco and health (SCOTH), was set up by this government their publications of their finding said that second hand smoke was harmful, when the tobacco companies took SCOTH to court in 1998 on various counts, the judge ruled that SCOTH are an advisory committee and as such can not be held to account, even though the Government,NHS,ASH,and also the Advertising Standards Authority who used SCOTH statistics in not upholding my complaint about the NHS wedding advert.

Statistics which have no scientific basis are being used against the consumption of alcohol.The NHS have a current advertising campaign, which says know your limits and recommend men drink no more than 21 units a week this is junk advice and has no medical basis whatsoever.Search 'How safe drinking experts let a bottle or two go to their heads', it was published on Timesonline Oct 20 2007.
You will find you have to drink 63 units a week to get to the same risk of death as a teetotaller.

I had a small heart attack last month (I believe it was the smoking ban which caused this), I have spent many thousands of hours over the last two years researching and trying to bring the truth forward that there is no significant epidemilogical evidence that second hand smoke is harmful, my first success was finding HSE OC255/15 in Feb 2007, which I used to complain of an advert on SHS, to the ASA this coincided with the NHS pulling their Pre ban £10,000,000 advertising campaign in March.

Wilsontug: I get more angry when I see it as well. The lies used to push this law through, then the lies used to justify it, make my blood boil. There are people dying as a result of this ban; thousands are out of work because of it and thousands of business shut too. That's before we start mentioning broken communities etc.
It stinks.

kindog101: It would be very easy for the Government to refuse to give their normal briefings to a particular newspaper if they went against Government policy.Owners and Editors are very careful about what they say.Not quite a "D Notice " but near enough.

Exocet,the more i watch this vid the more angry i become,how do these people get away with the lies and indeed the whole fraud of secondhand smoke,where are the Honest Newspaper writers,people should know about this scam by the Government and ASH and they should be held to account over it,and it is time the government funding of ASH was stopped,the taxpayer is paying for lies to be told.

We have a party in power that has funded a charity to lobby MPs with what they want to happen, and we have an opposition who doesn't oppose. Surely the opposition should be taking the correct and official data, which has been published, to question the party in power?
Why have they not used this opportunity to oppose? That is what they are there for afterall.

helend498:The reason why the Government is spending hundreds of millions on smoking cessation is because the smoking ban isn't working the way the Anti's thought it would, ie reduce smoking.

Exocet123. I agree. People are definitely seeing through the lies. They're becoming so obvious and even backed up by official data, yet still the anti-smoking lobbies and government believe the lies!
It appears that MPs only represent heavily funded bodies (funded by themselves). The public were left behind a long time ago (so they think!)

You know, I think that their lies, just like the one in Phil's video, will eventually lead to a reform of the ban. They're becoming so outrageous and downright obvious. People have been ridiculing this all night, and rightly so! Do they all really think that we were born yesterday?

Have you heard the latest - smoking at least 6 months before getting pregnant can harm your baby! What happened to after (x) hours of smoking this happens, after (x) this does, and (x) this happens? etc - we've all had it drummed into us.
Funny how they always forget to mention that after (x) number of months, you'll turn into an unsociable robot with no regard for other's lifestyle choices.
