I just finished the full remastered season 1-3. They did a phenomenal job. There were so many mistakes and cut corners with the original series, it's pretty silly to complain about updated effects.  They were amazingly restrained with their updated effects. And if you don't like them, the original effects are on the discs in all their craptacular glory!

And all they're going to do is have the exterior visuals updated and perhaps the soundtrack. The sets &c. will all look the same- there's a limit to what they can update.

And they have to keep the silly female vocals going ah-ahh that always irritated me.

The earlier episodes' theme didn't have that.

I don't know why anyone would complain about the remastered series. As much as I love, adore and respect the original broadcasts, I think it's much more appealing to see a digital Enterprise flying around a burning ball of fire than a little model awkwardly circling an orange circle. It's not like Spielberg's massacres where he actually changed the material. All they did was visually enhance it enough to look much prettier, without going overboard. Amazing job on their part, in my opinion.

Sorry but these "remastered effects" sukcs. Its a long time ago that i´ve seen so bad, so obviously computer generated effects. Look at Enterprises In A Mirror Darkly. In compare to that, these remasterd stuff looks like crap from some amateur computer nerds.

It's about time. Overall the visual effects on the old show were good, but sometimes sloppy as they rushed to meet air dates. Some of that first year Enterprise footage needs cleaning up. She looked like she'd already been in space for five years!

The remastered Star Trek was worth the wait. Seeing the Enterprise dash across my ipod is surreal.

TOS had very rich color and the effects look fantastic. A new season of TOS would be amazing!

New actors are fine with me as a lifelong fan who saw the show in the 1970's!

Indeed. The truth is that most TOS bashers have never bothered to watch a full episode and get their opinions about TOS from the message boards or friends. Of course there are episodes that are stinkers, but that is true of every TV series.

and thank God they've come out with this... for those Trek fans who don't like it, that's fine... you don't have to watch it. You can purchase Star Trek: The Original Series in it's original form.

Wot a fantastic idea to mark the 30th Anniversary of Star Trek, i wonder if Shatner and the survivng cast members were happy with it. The graphics are fantastic, the enterprise is a fine ship and a credit to her name!

There were supposed to be 5 seasons, but it only got to 3. I would like to see more myself, but it's impossible now. The actors are either all old or dead. Putting in new actors would upset a lot of people. :/ I asume this trailer is for the DVD box sets?

Bloody Paramount. Now they realise how actually good the original was, they have to go back and fiddle with it don't they. What is it with Hollywood etc nowadays, they just can't leave old classic relics alone can they!

lets see the wreck the music , they claim its note for note the blasted first season theme both the early and one used for most doesn't have a woman singing , so you now destroy the music originaly done , then you waste more time and money by making the effects look like a video game , might aswell paint the hair on the original Mona Lisa brown , thanks George Lucas you started this bull .

Who said they were using the woman in the first season. All you saw was them recording her track.

i caught a couple of these on air and yes they are using the woman in the first season to sing and she shouldn't be there , money is better spent feeding people.
