@lcukniev I've got nothing against your country, I'm a great admirer of Slavic culture, but I only quote what Historians and Archaeologists say and certainly what I've been taught in school, and in Britain we are taught that ancient Macedonia was - and still is - a terrritory of northern Greece. The ancient Macedonians were of Greek origin and spoke a broader rougher dialect of Greek. I'm sure the prestigious Universities of Harvard Yale, Oxford and Cambridge know what they're saying

Macedonians were of Greek stock that is, they had a Greek gene pool, spoke a north-western Greek language, and lived in Greece's northern province of Macedonia. Macedonia in northern Greece was - and still is - a territory of Greece. All the Greek tribes were were at war with each other and killing each other for land, power and dominance. Alexander united the Greek tribes to create a unified Greece.

of Greece and control Greece but failed, but only

Macedon succeeded. It was thus Philip and Alexander

Well I'm British but I can answer your Question,

Greece was made up of a loose confederation

of Greek city states and kingdoms.

All of them were at war with each other

for the extension of their lands and for greater power.

Of course, Alexander was a more traditional Greek,

and he sought to unify Greece, from a loose

confederation, into a unified country that could identify

@zemfak I'm sorry but all evidence points to Alexander being nothing but Greek. He was born in Greece near modern-day Thessaloniki in northern Greece, NOT FYROM. Pella was an ancient Greek city. Macedonia was just another city-state in Greece and Pella was the capital of Macedon. He spoke Greek, wrote in Greek, was tutored by one of the most famous Greeks in history, Aristotle, spread Greek culture all over the world. Philip competed in the Olympics, which only GREEKS could compete in.

Very good video. I love Alexander as I do Breaking Benjamin. He really is the greatest general of all time. To conquer the most powerful empire on Earth with only 50,000 men is such an amazing achievement that no other commander has ever matched. That is why all commanders since Alexander have always wanted to be like him. Not to mention his courage, he was so inspiring to his men, being the first one to hit the enemy line, always leading the charge. But he was, is and always will be Greek!!!!!
