Can someone please explain to me why Twitter is practically everywhere I look nowadays. I get that it's a handy site to give quick update to many people at a time.

But why is it constantly in the papers, on YouTube, and sometimes even on TV? Is Twitter really so unique and revolutionary that is deserves this much attention from all media types?

I fail to see how Twitter is different then any other blog site other then smaller and quicker posts.

I don't mean that negative, I'm just curious.
