  • I feel so humbled by the splendour of Mother Nature's creations!...

  • @victorio1940 Gods creation

  • bla bla bla, a Lion would crush any elephant in a matter of seconds, easily.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY Sources please.

Be honest, do you truly believe that a lone male lion could defeat a 12-foot, 15,000 lb bull elephant?

  • @SuperGuerreroXY Yeah. That was a pretty stupid content. Lions know not to hunt elephants because they're too big and strong and dangerous.

  • @dragonkeeper19600 you are scareda bout its size, this is fool...size is not the same as strength and danger.Lion is strongest and more dangerous,so lion eat meat, and elephants are vegetarians,it emans the lion owuld kill the elephant instantly.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY Elephants have plenty of strength and vigor. And just because something is a vegetarian doesn't mean it's not deadly. Tons of species, like hippos, giraffes, water buffalo, kill tons of people every year, and lions are smart enough to avoid them if they can.

  • @dragonkeeper19600 You are naive.Lion destroys all those animals in seconds.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY You're the naive one. Lions have limits like all other animals. No expert is going to tell you that a lion could kill any animal he wanted in seconds. You find me one expert who holds your whacko-absurd view, you can't, so shut up.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY Wow. You are so dumb.

"Lions hunting in groups are capable of taking down most animals, even healthy adults, but in most parts of their range they rarely attack very large prey such as fully grown male giraffes due to the danger of injury."

Got that form Wikipedia. Now where's your source telling me that lions are super-powered godlike creatures who can take down anything? I'm waiting.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY no, an elephant would destroy a lion which was stupid enough to attack it

  • @PFCAhammed sometimes lions are stupids, but always win the battles, elephants are downed by lions everyday in africa.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY Lions know to pick off sick or young elephants. They'd have to be pretty desperate to take on a healthy adult.

  • @SuperGuerreroXY No it's the opposite, elephants are known to kill lions. Stop pulling "scientifc data" out of your ass.

  • Cousin Pete?! You don't remember me Lil' Lucky?!

  • help the elephant from extinction stop china before it is to late

  • stop china from wiping out elephants before it is to late stop china

  • we forget that we are animals to and all animals feel we act as if they are stupid and clueless btu tis onyl becaus ethye have kept their old ways and we have evolved

  • no, they actually grieve. there is a preserve in TN and one day an elephant died and they hauled the carcass off thinking it would upset the other elephants. The elephants knew they were missing a friend and went a little nuts. Someone who was well-versed in elephants' behavior told them to put what remained of the dead elephant back into the field. Once all the elephants had a chance to "say goodbye", they stopped acting up.

  • Has anybody stopped to think that their fascination with the dead body might be because they're trying to work out how it died? If the elephant was shot by a hunter then they might want to take a detour to avoid the hunter, if it died from famine then that indicates a lack of food ahead and maybe they should go elsewhere, etc.

It would require a close inspection of the body to work this out.

  • 1:46 "I remember you. You were weak".

  • It just so upsetting, how many animals are killed by us. Animals have feelings, they feel pain and grief indeed: elephants, dolphins, whales, dogs, cats, chimpanzee. I wish this 140K people would just kick all the illegal hunters. Fortunately, animals rights foundations amount is growing bigger, hopefully it wil bring a significant result as well.

  • Elephants and Dolphins are cool.

  • the only reason animals cant and will never speak to us is because their voice box is different. otherwise, they can communicate by other means such as body language.

  • i would rather not

  • Checking the bones...to honor the dead? Or to look for loose change?

  • it's strangely beautiful they are trying to get the scent of their species as a way of paying respects. I am assuming they don't do it to other animal carcasses.

  • Elephants are the only animals besides humans that have a known death ritual.

  • Holy shit @ 3:07

  • They remind me of the descriptions of early humans. Give evolution a hundred thousand to a million years and Elephants may be able to speak to us.

  • an elephant starts picking around a dead body and putting bones in there mouths, there smart....a human does it and there a retard

  • ... how poachers can go around killing these things for no reason amazes me.

  • @cb7pwn Maybe it's because they see them as ''things'' instead of living beings...

  • "Only a fully conscious being can think in such a way....*elephant puts bone in its mouth* O_O

  • There are many animals that feel emotion. But none like elephants.

  • @megaraptor0 dolphins are smarter than elephants

  • @iamsupaman420 no no....

  • I respect my big parents

  • it seems that elephants are more social than humans

  • @erniethefrog2011

    No...

  • elephants grieve,

    elephants love,

    elephants, believe:-D

  • if elephants could cry, they would.

  • @12zuzus they do cry

  • he's checking if the ivory is of any quality he can sell for some cash.

  • Is there any nature documentary not narrated b David Attenborough? Elephants are a truly beautiful species...such an empathic creature.

  • No wonder, there are not machines. But what is important is that they deserve respect.

  • 3:09 hahah if u gotta go u gotta go

  • I heard that every animal except humans don't know that they are going to die. Do you know if this is true and if you say yes where are some internet resources, videos, etc. that back your case up?

The best case that would interesting to know about is elephants since elephants mourn their dead. Do they know that they themselves are going to die also?

  • I LOVE ANIMALS BUT ELEPHANTS GET MY ATTENTION ALOT.. THEY ARE SUCH BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS,

  • lmao!!! 3:09 bahahahahaha epic poop spray.!

  • Elephants brains are large enough and complex enough to be able to comprehend mortality and death the way we do. While it's good to remember not to project our human emotions onto animals, to say they are blank slates without awareness or the ability to grieve or be at least shocked to see one of their own kind dead is rediculous. Remember when people thought babies were born blank slates. Elephants are amongst the most intelligent animals. Whales, humans, primates recognise mortality

  • Elephants exude excellence. The fact that there are bastards out there who'd kill them for their ivory enrages me to no end. Were I a really wealthy fellow, I'd give money to ensure the animals protection.

  • I went on an open jeep safari in Kenya and while having a roaring lion about 5 feet away is scary it's nothing compared to getting too close to a baby elephant. Those female elephants are cool but they can be very frightening when they feel their young are being threatened and I love them all the more for their defense of all the babies of the herd, not just their own.

  • @ScooterGirl9988 I AM SO JEALOUS :)

  • I can't help but think that sniffing the corpse and fondeling (and at one point, tasting) the bones isn't a strong sign of grief. No offence, but it more puts me in mind of CSI of the natural world. Still, elephants are cool with me.

  • @cb44868 what did you expect you idiot? An elephant crying and grabing a facial tissue while other read the Bible? Uhhh! You wish to have half of the intelligence elephants have...

  • @TheOlis1983 Chill, dude. This sort of behavior appears more like curiosity than grieving from a human standpoint, so you can't really blame someone for thinking something like that. Very few people can even guess what's going on in an elephant's head, much less another human's.

    Peace. <3

  • @TheOlis1983

    Charmed, I'm sure...

  • I FUCKING LOVE ELEPHANTS

  • i think its amazing how wild elphants visit their dead every year.

  • Maybe elephants have a superior intelligence than even us. I can name some humans who would have used the bones for training their dogs.

  • @zertxer You're saying you know people who would have used human bones they found for training their dogs? Because otherwise, if you mean elephant bones, it's not a good comparison. And respect for the dead has nothing to do with intelligence.

  • @legion999 It has everything to do with intelligence. To respect the dead you have to have an understanding of mortality, and most animals don't, because they aren't fully self-aware. Elephants have passed the "mirror test", meaning they recognise their own reflections. Very very few animals can do that.

  • @wratched I was only saying that you can be an extremely intelligent human, solving quantum equations left and right or whatever but you may choose to treat the dead like ordinary carrion. So respect for the dead is probably connected with sentience or self-awareness but not intelligence.

  • Beautiful.

  • "Bob si that you? What happened to you? You don't look very well."

  • Who decides anyway that animals are devoid of emotions and feelings or intelligence???? Certainly we humans have been privileged as the dominant species but animals are not zombies.

  • @ningrat1 Well said.

  • How touching :) Came across this looking for elephant videos for my toddler. they're his favorite :)

  • elephants used to bury not only their own dead but dead humans when they came across them

  • elephants are incredible ..

  • elephants are fucking incredible ..

  • Amazing.

  • Simply beautiful....

  • elephants are so smart...so amazing...i get so deeply moved by them i'm in tears every time i watch something about them..

  • Truly beautiful and intelligent creatures. BTW can someone tell me how in the world the elephants allow them to get so close?

  • @Drigger96 From the Camera view's, I'm wondering the same thing lmfaoooo!!!!

  • @lmaobanned Take a look at the "Spy in the Herd" video in the suggestions to see how they do it.

  • @Drigger96 The crew aren't physically holding the cameras in the super up-close shots. They placed the cameras there before the Elephants arrived and waited.

  • ahahaha projectile defecation at 3:10

  • I think geese also mourn as well, I'm pretty sure and also lions if someone out of a pride dies or something they will mourn

  • the ad I got this time at the bottom of the video was 'personal will writing' ...yeah I think the only key word it found on this video was grieving. haha.

  • Attenborough's voice is like the immortal voice of wisdom.

  • To kill an elephant should at LEAST be equal to killing a human. Such intelligence and altruism should be upheld and preserved by the people. For all the people who fuel poachers because they "need" ivory piano keys can KISS MAH BUTT!

  • @TenouHaruka0 I agree all intelligent animals deserve respect i mean whales and dolphins save people from sharks when they dont have to but we kill them anyway.

  • such an awesome animal.

  • Really shows how smart Elephants are only dogs, chimps, some cats, and dolphins mourn besides elephants really shows which animals are the smartest animals.

  • @Mike55loveshisgecko Mountain gorilla morn death also

  • @Mike55loveshisgecko Mountain gorillas do it also

  • @lilsm555 Sorry forgot to just say apes.;)

  • I love elephants

  • Why do you think that humans, or should I say Walt Disney, called their elephant Dumbo?

    Hmmmm....

  • They make better parents than people.

  • @MrFrank440 Depends on the people.Don't lump everyone together on that one, there are some decent parents.

  • @Oxylepy Sorry. I should have said most people.

  • when i was growing up, i heard many people say elephants have a brain the size of a peanut. I'm not sure if this is true or not but i'm assuming its false after watching this.

  • @SensiRootsBoy elephants have the largest brain of any land animal lol. they are considered the second most intelligent animals after apes/chimps

  • @SensiRootsBoy en.wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/elephant_intelligence

  • I was tearing up until 3:09... then I LOLD

  • elephants are such amazing creatures that definitely deserve more credit for their amazing ways.

  • humans dont even show this much compassion to their kind these days..beautiful stunning creatures...

  • Elephant upskirt cam. Haha jk I think this is awesome. Just 0:01 to 0:30 is kinda funny.

  • Elephants are such wonderful, intelligent, empathetic and compassionate creatures. The elephant is my favorite wild animal. Awesome footage!

  • deep

  • It amazes me how these nature shows can get such excellent camera shots.

  • my son love to watch the elephant

  • My eyes mist when the elephants started to caress the bones.

  • HAHAHAAHAHA at 3:10 an elephant on right right went constipated and got caught on film!

  • WITH SORROW

The Elephants march nice and fresh.

    They are happy,

until they come across bones and flesh.

They halt to grieve for their death.

But a new sun will rise tomorrow,

and they have to continue their journey,

    with sorrow...

  • We are all 'one life'...we are all related to each other by virtue of our DNA. The coding might be different, but the chemistry is the same.

Together we are all members of the same consciousness, the same life force. When we harm others for no good reason, as we blindly damage our environment we harm and we damage ourselves.

  • the interesting thing is that we found this as a strange behaviour for a animal. Another proof that we humans are selfish

Every creature shuld be respected as we are

  • if you think about it, emotion would have evolved (if you believe that) so biologically it makes no sense for only ourselves to show emotion.

We just can't stand something threatening our so called superiority

  • What a huge herd we have here.

  • thats crazy

  • Elephant intelligence is so underrated.

  • @thestarduster I personally think (based on the evidence concerning brain structure, neuron structure, emotional life etc) that elephants are without a doubt the world's smartest animals, and they are definitely our closest relatives in terms of emotional complexity. Elephants simply do not get the media attention other animals get when it comes to intelligence, which is a real shame.

  • Top 5 Animal Stories

  • they are so amazingly smart

  • sympathetic animals , they are nice

  • so guess this how we humans learn the moment of silence from elephants.

  • It's so beautiful!

    Animals are amazing beyond words.

  • magnificent animals.

  • elephants are fascinating creatures.

  • elephants are so sweet.<3

  • Oh, nasty. I didn't need to see that. I just happened to be looking at the right-most elephant at 3:09. x_x;;

  • What's a load of poop between friends & family? ;) Nature at it's best!
