  • this is great, i thought the chess commercial was old school but this is better!! i thought old Gunny Highway was go to show up some where in there!!

  • cool

  • lol old, but the principles remain the same ^_^

    Semper Fidelis

  • i love the marines that will be me when im older

  • went all fucking retro on me

  • actually we cleaned our m16's with a lubricant called LSA it had the feel like machine oil, when i was issued my first m16 after "boot" i joked to another marine and said yep' another fun toy from "MATTEL", i never really cared for the 223 caliber. but i really did like the 308, oh sorry you new corps guys call it the 7.62...semper fi

  • @oldrumer4u The new M-16 A-4 is so much better and so far ahead of the original M-16, it's almost unbelievable.

What years were you in, and where did you attend Basic?

I was in 1979 - 1986 and attended Basic aboard MCRD Parris Island.

    Semper-Fi.

  • @MultiBaldEagle I landed at Parris Island on Aug 1st 1978 and Graduated on of all days ...Oct 31st ( Halloween) 1978. Plt 2064 the ol' Singing Second Battalion, I was issued an XM-16 in Bootcamp (prototype) the pins kept popping loose everytime i fired on the range , the armourer replaced the pins but it was no use, that damn thing was worn out

  • @oldrumer4u.....Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I stood on those yellow footprints on June 8, 1979 and it changed my life forever.

And almost exactly 27 years ago, we all know what happened right?

    One morning I'll never forget!

  • shit Im already out the door to sign the papers now that a seen that, O wait i already signed them..

  • Damn... That's old school Marine classic!!

  • hell yeah look at the old as m16s they got and the cobras

  • this music makes me want to go join the A-team not the Marines

  • hahah right

  • hahaha good commercial but pretty bad music

  • 1980s Marine commercial and it's still badass

  • Mother fucking old corps right there. Those are some salt dogs.

  • How old is this?

  • looks like it's from the 80s

  • i feel like a total noob cuz i hardly know what any of u people are talking about lol

  • how old is this lol

  • Listening to the style of the background music, I would guess it's from the late 80's or very early 90's.

  • 2 years left until I join, I'm going to go crazy waiting!

  • wow this one is old!!!!!

  • i feel like i'm in mash right now.

  • During Vietnam the m16 wasn't all that great in combat but worked well on the range, it had to be well taken care of etc, this all changed when the soldiers were issued cleaning kits then it was more effective in combat. I think that's the story. But yeah the m14 is basically a "beastly pure bread American piece made of wood, iron and cock. "

  • the early versions of the M16 had problems because of the powder used in the catridge, the chamber was not crome plaited, and troops were told it was self cleaning. the Weapon has to be kept clean, the early problems were corrected and proper maintenance will keep the weapon funtioning properly, in the 1980's an Improved version was introduced the M16-A2

  • .....

Is it just me...but do you guys ever see a Asian in the Marine Corp commerical?

I'm pretty damn sure there are lots of Asians in U.S. Marine, but i never see them in a commerical!

    WHY IS THAT?! hpmmmm!!!

  • Semper Fi, I leave June 1st: Parris Island

  • this is such an 80's ad O.o

  • damn this vid was on my recommened for you list.

    thats scarz o.0

  • What a way to transport Marines!

  • I arrived in Parris Island May 28.1980. all the equipment Uniforms you see were used bake then. the Uniform was called poplen. the M16A1 was the the basic weapon. Maximum rage 460 meter,

  • Hey, in vietnam wasnt the M16 like the worst weapon?

cause it always jammed, and accuracy was bad?

  • nope....m16 is the best...m4 was created...because some people are to short to use the m16...but yea, its easy to jammed but its the best....maybe you mean the AR10...

  • AR15, not 10...the M16 was know to jam so the M4 was created, which an improved version.

  • search it...

  • The AR-10 is an American 7.62 mm battle rifle developed by Eugene Stoner in the late 1950s at ArmaLite...theres an ar10 sniper rifle too, but ar10 is an armalite..The unique features of the AR-10 would eventually be developed into the U.S. Army's M16

  • ah thanks.

  • The M4 is just a shorter-barreled version of the M16. It has the exact same lower reciever.

The M16 is perfectly reliable, you just have to clean and maintain it properly. It jammed a lot in vietnam because it was promoted as a "self-cleaning" weapon so troops didn't clean them well enough.

  • Actually they were told not to clean them ALL.

  • the amo they used also clogged up the breech and jammed the gun, that was the biggest cause, it was because they used stick powder instead of the grain powder they designed the gun with.

  • actually no it's not. Its a shitty weapon if not maintained and taken care of. but a damn good one if properly maintained and taken care of. Although i wish we would go back to an improved version of the M-14.

  • Does anyone have the ad where they're on a chessboard? I thought that one was cool.

  • Just type it into You Tube I'm sure you can find it there.

  • they are fighting for freedom and liberty if you are against those prinicpals then the marines have a bullet with your name on it

    oorah USMC SEMPER FI

  • Due to the fact that they are wearing EDRL camo that was made prior to the introduction of M84 Woodland, I'd have to say this video would have been made in 84 or 85 at the latest. Most likely early 80s

  • Let's see.. the M16a1 is still in service, so it's probably not in the 90's, so, mid 80's?

  • fuck that would have to be at least back in the late 80's - early 90's

  • late 80s / early 90s? No.

more like, early to mid 80s.

  • damn old school, my phone got a better camera, lol....but yea good shit

  • YES SIR !!!!!

  • shit that was like the 80s when the marines were still fucking badasses

  • *0s

  • wow, old school

  • This is from the late 70s and early 80s.

    We ARE the American SPARTAN!

  • Hell yeah. at our recruiting station we have a leonidas action figure and we replace his spear with a USMC flag.

  • u suck dude marines are awsome.. asshole

  • defending ur pointless life

    OORAH

    0311!

  • fuck ye orrah

  • fuck you zentropa coward mother fucker

  • Where's MTV? I love the eighties!

  • This is old school for sure. My uncle is an old school Marine, the kind of old school when he wore a steel pot helmet and frag vest; the kind of old school when he carried an M-16A1 and a PRC-77 radio as they set foot on Grenada. Semper Fi, Marines!

  • this has to be 1980's

  • LOL it is the old Day Attack Harrier. But man I am glad I'm tow qualed. Screw pushing the Night Attacks and Radars around the flightline.

  • Hahahaha that's great.

  • Wow... they were using the M16A1... this is old Corps :)

  • They still do

  • Wow! That was back before the good old days od kevlar.

  • That was the "Real Corps" not like it is now!!!

  • .............

  • jesus this is old :D earily 80s?

  • They should put this commercial on today. No one would know what the fuck.

  • Seriously. They'd probably protest it for some fucked up hippy reason.
