The Shamen were,to me, the first alternative band to cross over to acid. I loved this record then was amazed when "Jesus Loves Amerika" came out. Half the alternative scene went with them..........
Drop is a fantastic album. They did a really good set on a Scottish music programme called FSD with songs from it. I use to have it on video (alas no more). Saw them live around this time in Aberdeen at the Venue. They were brilliant around the time of Drop.
Yes they are, The reason for that is the band fragmented, particularly Derek leaving the band just before they went big and new members arriving on the scene. But Move Any Mountain (their first hit) was an excellent underground track which saw them embrace the new dance scene sound in a very tasteful way. But after that release they became very commercial. Colins almost complete lack of interviews may say something about how he felt.
nice ..never heard till now :)

Thanks for posting.
I was in love with their album.
In 1988 I saw their live in Naples. Acousting was bad and their performance too was disappointing. But Drop is a great album.
I wonder if they are the same Shamen that play a kind of techno dance. In this case...what a shame(n)!
I love this song. Thanks again.
