Wow, they really liked that shot of the jaguar or cheetah or whatever getting knocked over. I think they showed that about five times or so. I saw this movie when I was around six years old, and it scared the crap out of me. I thought I dreamed it, but finally found it again. This show did come on FOX at one time, but I don't think they had much to do with its creation. I like the fact that we don't find out much here. It makes an interesting movie on its own, even though it was a pilot.
@Plotspider I noticed that, as well. ;-) Yeah, it is very interesting, but there were times when I'd (almost) have killed to know how this very movie in particular was supposed to be continued. ;-)
@BleuDeQ I suspect we were meant to find out who and why people were making robot copies of random civilians. I just loved the fact that 'father' or whoever told the hero, point blank, "it's none of your business" instead of going on a monologue. I know they did that for the pilot's sake, but it works. It messes with one's head that way.
@rpcarnell Watch the end credits. ;-) This isn't even a FOX series. It's from Universal TV. That's why I've been so confused with your question... :-)
@BleuDeQ It has something to do with the fact that Fox pulled the plug on Terminator, the series, and Firefly. I also think this never became a series at all.
I hope we all learned a valuable lesson: light bulbs blow up farm equipment. It happens all the time but the government is suppressing that knowledge.
@TomatoeAssassin Yeah shame on them politicians. I always thought there was some sort of agricultural conspiracy among us. Glad you made us open our eyes. :-)
i wish they made more films like this, i love the killer robot theme, especially when half their face is torn off and a glowing red eye is exposed, scary shit man!
@BleuDeQ Yes thats wright, only the 80's got it wright, this was made a year after i was born, very fond memories indeed, thanks for posting, you're the best!
I didn't expect that there are so many others with the same story - watching this movie in their childhood, being scared and finally being able to re-watch it years later thanks to your upload.
Yeah it's these feelings that are responsible for getting connected and stuck respectively to something. In this case to a movie or a piece of music.
"Annihilator" makes me feel really "80s" again. :-)
For the same reason I've been looking for another movie for years. In German it's called "Redwing - Flucht vor den schwarzen Droiden". The original title was "Starship" / "Lorca and the Outlaws".
I saw this movie in the egyptian tv when I was 10 years old...I was so scared that I slepts beside my brother in the same bed..now I think the real life is more scary than this movie....thanks a lot
This soundtrack has a so disillusioned tune, it fills perfectly.

What a shame this thing never became a tv series. Was FOX somehow responsible?

@rpcarnell I don't have a clue but why do you believe that FOX has anything to do with its cancellation?!

@steliosz28
Not entirely true... the movie couldn't be more 80s, but the comment during the credit was a broadcast ad of Channel 5 in 1996 or 1997. ;-)

Habe grad nach Annhilator gegoogelt, mein Vater hatte diesen Film anfang der 90er auf Video-Kasette aufgenommen.
Da habe ich gleich mal ne Frage! Hast du diesen Film mit deutscher Synchro?
titsxyxyxyxtits 1 year ago
Ja, den hab ich auf einer Original-VHS in nicht allzu guter Qualität, aber er ist da auf Deutsch.
Ich muss allerdings sagen, dass die deutsche Synchro ziemlich bescheiden ist.

In the meantime I've rewatched it in German. It's crappy but still cool because it's a "childhood movie"! :-)
Anyway I'd really love to watch that "masterpiece" in English.
