The chassis was built by Superformance in South Africa. They manufacture their own chassis under license from Safir Spares as a continuation model of the original GT40. So it is a true GT40, although not an original from the 1960s. Their cars are imported into the US as a factory produced car, minus the engine and transmission. So it's a continuation model rather than a kit car.
This is actually a GT40/R, built by Superformance and prepared by Pathfinder Motorsports in Florida. The car is only a few years old, but is a close replica of an original GT40 Mk1.
