not at all. humour and creativity should always be given a resounding nod.
but you would never be able to apply your imaginative and rather endearing balloon flourishes to at least one film - the red balloon! lol. do you know it? a classic short french film. the clues in the title as to why having cgi implanted joke balloons would work less in that film. lol.
aaaah! i see now! its one of my all time favourite films. i think the red balloon is film making and story telling at its most purest and most potent. i love the pathos in that film which ultimately gives way to a happy and uplifting (literally in this case!) ending. its so touching and heart warming.
your the only person i've met that remembers that film.
i'm in love with the snowman too....... although there the end is essentially a sad one but all the more beautiful for it.
I love the Snowman! Really beautiful score and such a heartfelt story. I remember seeing a screening that was introduced by David Bowie, who appeared in live action. He was holding the scarf that the boy keeps at the end. It was a really charming and unexpected way to introduce the film.
wow thats cool. i love the little soliloquay bowie recites at the beginning of the snowman. to my 8 year old mind, it was poetry. that film left an eddible mark on me and taught me how you can enchant an audience with language, music and pictures.
another film where your rather charming balloons may not work as well; especially as its an animated film and not a live action one.
Finally a way to bring some class to Bogart / Bergman movies. Balloons = Class its pure arithmatic. Poetry if you will.
