Same character was in Chuck Norris' film Silent Rage. I think it's even the same guy.
Psychopathic killer gets killed by cops. Gets given Regenerative formula which makes him invincible. Goes on a killing spree. Chuck Norris kicks him into a well.
How bout the second cut of the head with the blood gushing , to my view it looks like they use a rubber bag of fake blood as a fake head being bisected with the other head half looking like it's being squeezed?
Thanks fella. I've noticed the horror fan sub genre (for want of a better word) that collect the soundtracks. theres some interesting collections out there
Indeed. Without boasting too much, I'd say I am one of the crazier collectors out there, for I can never have enough of these OSTs and I don't even need to physically own the music. As long as the sounds are in my possession in some shape, I'm satisfied. With the movies themselves though, I need to have them on my shelf.
Some forms of mild OCD can actually be kinda fun! =D
This particular film is interesting especially for the fact that it seems to be a collection of various horror elements taken here and there from other titles (as you stated in your review). It gathers these elements to one formula that, on it's own, wouldn't be very strong. Italian horror was usually more about quantity than quality, at least in D'Amato's case, and therefore improving one's film mostly consisted of borrowing and learning from other people's work.
Absoloutely it makes sense. The Italian film industry, with a few notable exceptions, neo realist for example and in this genre the cannibal films, was a big magpie. hence the spaghetti westerns and the constant pseudo sequels like zombi 2 etc. They were very effiecient at capitolising on others success
Its a late night trip to the grave yard once a month with a shovel and a getaway vehicle. You've no idea what I have to go through for these videos ;0)
where do you get those zombie hands from??...do they have removable fingers?..or do you just have a load of zombie hands...or are they your own hands??? LOL
Yeah most of the DVD's that are around are direct VHS transfers from very old cassettes. In a way though thats ok as its almost how the nasties should be seen. I have a copy of 'within the woods' the evil dead prototype by Sam Rami which is almost unwatchable but is probably to be honest better for that funny enough
That's cool man. I'm currently trying to locate any original "Absurd" and "The Werewolf and the Yeti" VHS tapes on ebay, but I'm having no luck unfortunately.
there is an american release under the name horrible and as far as i know it IS uncut

I'm awaiting the R1 DVD of Horrible (aka Absurd), never seen it but lots of fans prefer Absurd to the slow paced Anthropophagus.

The close up on the cut is a fake head the reverse angle is probably pumped through a tube from under the table I'd imagine
lampyman101 2 years ago
That's a good disguise of fake gore in the movies.

Yeah the SFX are pretty good. that scene in particular is very well done.

If you're interested in SFX Tom Savini's book 'Grande Illusions' is worth checking out

Excellent, thorough review! I am a huge fan of this film and despite it's obvious flaws, I feel it deserves more credit that it's sometimes given.
I already hold the Carlo Maria Cordio soundtrack and I'm planning to get the DVD by MYA once it comes out.

Another awesome review! It's funny that you point out the absurdity of Absured during the middle of your video LOL
Do you know why there is not decent DVD of this out yet? Are there any copyright/ownership issues?

Good review, I just got hold of this movie in the form of a VHS rip burned onto DVD. It's a decent movie but the quality is aweful.
