Nice performance. The L/R hand changeovers are the tricky part, getting the chordal pacing steady across the changes... What was the keyboard you were using there? I'm thinking of getting Ivory 1.5 but have no idea for the best midi controller to give that gentle wood weighted feel - thoughts welcome :-)
Ha Ha i played this piece on a grand one nite at a bar. i was sitting on a duet stool. Before i new it i was surrounded by women, including one sitting beside me.
I was around 24 yrs old had hair and was better looking.
Yes dave is great, and it is a fun nice peice to play . . . . .
great music and playing.... is the music transcription of Mitch & Abbey available at Jazzyjapan the version you played?.... thanks for your help.... would like to get the sheet music
Darius this is fantastic; a treat to listen to! I do have a pedantic question, hope you don't mind. Without calling your obvious talent into question at all (nor the music, which I don't doubt you're reading correctly), I'm missing the B flats from 0:12-0:14 which I seem to recall from the album version. They're in your video from 0:09-0:10, but then they drop out in the phrasing that follows. I realize this presents a fingering problem (L thumb is a possibility). Am I way off?
Hi, i dont quite get your question, but when i listen carefully to grusins recording, Im pretty sure the piano has been multitracked for this tune for (i think) the reasons you mentioned above, I remember when I was listening to the original having this feeling. ok hope that helps, d
This is a beautiful song; please could you try in playing
Blues: the death of love and trust? Its also from David Grusin
From the same sound track, the how could you lose me? (The end title) Oh we are from Brazil and we loved your playing. I am from Recife in Pernambuco.
Oh My God that was amazing! It was as though Mr Grusin performed that Himself! My compliments. I'll have to sit down and try to figure that one out! EXCELLENT job and thank you for sharing that with us.
(sorry but I do not know to speak English very well)...Good song! and you are very good player..but..can i do a question? I love so mutch Dave grusin and i'm looking for his song but I do not know where to try. The song is fallyng in love soundtrack..the movie's love song...do you know about it??
il tema della sigla di testa si chiama Morning Dance ma ci sono anche altri brani, forse tu parli di "The Christmas Song" (composta da Tormé)? Mi sa che quella versione è introvabile.
BRAVO! You play wonderfully well (I wish I could play just as well). This is one of my favorite tunes from the OST 'The Firm' and by just listening to your interpretation I got goose pimples! COMPLIMENTI!!! Congratulations!
I realise what an influence the Grusin brothers are to you, but you must look up the Canadian songwriter David Foster. If you have not heard of him, I promise you will love his stuff.Very similar to the Grusins.
Ya, the grusin brothers play the piano just how i really would like to hear it being played, just love it!, I have heard of David Foster, I like his work too.
Very nice. you dont have the hands of a pianist, but you obviously have an inate talent and feeling which shows. Works from the Firm is well suited for Digital Piano, you can tart it up a little with effects. I once played this piece in a Lounge Bar on a grand when i was in my early twenties, within a few minutes i had females swaning around, they love this sort of stuff, and its not to hard to play.....One of them took me home... wonderful... pianists sometimes have the winning card...
Hi there we are from Brazil, I am from Recife in the north east part of brasil.
And we loved your performance from down here...this song touches anyone with a hart deeply...
Wow without a doubt you missed a few notes and added some others here and there right by the end and in the middle of the song ... And you also cut it short too. Well at any rate; this song is so beautiful that if you don't know it And anyone who is hearing it from you right now
That was awesome...played to perfection. I have seen the movie about 20 times, but your take on the music was flawless. Mitch and Abby would be proud. Cheers!
I'll make that "Like" count an even 60 for ya :)
