  • @KimikoCat

If you're really a ballet fan, you recognize the show as Matthew Bourne's 'Swan Lake.'

  • @459w143 DAMN RIGHT! ADAM COOPER IS THE BEST!

  • this scene makes me cry like a baby, he made it and his dad is all choked up with pride, love it....just beautiful....the power of music and dance awesome..........

  • i seriously cried when the dad teared up even before he came on stage. Love that movie . . .

  • okay, WHAT THE HELL is Michael wearing on his head?!

  • quelq un peut il me dire de quel compositeur la musique? thékovsky? merci!!!!

  • Musique de Peter Illiov Tchaïkovsky

  • Musique de Peter Illiov Tchaïkovsky

  • what is he supposed to be anyway?

  • @RussianBalletFan22 If you're really a Russian ballet fan, you recognize the music as Swan Lake. There is a version of Swan Lake which was choreographed for an all-male troupe of dancers. This is what is being performed, and Billy is, of course, the lead swan.

  • This movie can really inspire movie, to do what your dream of :)

Such a wonderful, emotional ending of the masterpiece movie!

Such a natural fikm but such a genius movie ;) Płakałam jak bóbr na osttaniej scenie :) zajebisty film krótko mówiąc :)

  • i couldn't help but think of this movie and particularly this great ending while watching Black Swan. and I can tell you this 30 second finale performance was 100x times more fulfilling than Black Swan's ending.

  • j'adore le film il est trop beau et trop emouvan

  • One of the best endings to a film. Well acted and directed

  • Gary Lewis (the father) - a terrific actor.. he was also brilliant in The Gangs of New York .. "did you know there's a nigger in your church?"-scene

  • My favourite bit of this scene is when Billy leaps onto the stage and his dad just gasps! Always brings a tear to my eye!

  • Powerful

  • beautiful, except the costume ruins it. what is his role?

  • @pointeshoos the swan, from Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake. I think the costumes are great, but each to their own I suppose :)

  • my mom thought he was playing odette......wtf

  • Who is the dancer?

  • @GhillieXXdhu

    Adam Cooper :)

  • @chyoki3

    Oh! Thank you very much!

  • this is soooo gay. I don't like this version of the swan lake.

  • @SeiraVonKarma Oh yeah, because ballet is for homos? Choose your vocabulary wisely. Cunt.

  • @datispasdavid shut the hell up, I love ballet and my best friend is gay, I just don't like homosexuality combined with the swan lake.

  • T_T amoo y lloró esta escena cada vez que la veoo es tan hermosoo la música bailar ... u_u

  • everytime i see this i just have to cry.

its like so emotional for me - i feel like i am this little kid - always dancing and the growing up beeing in musical school and stuff - as my own story - love billy elliot

  • My fave moment is when he's obviously taken his fathers breath away.. wonderful!

  • @wellscot Agreed - marvellous acting without speaking, but spoke volumes - very moving!

  • Cada vez que lo veo, se me eriza el vello de la emoción. Qué belleza!

  • This part of the movie still actually makes me want to cry, it doesn't even matter if I haven't watched the rest of the movie before it. Brilliant climax to a brilliant film

  • Jonathan Ollivier from Matthew Bourne's SWAN LAKE?

  • @paniczsmok Adam Cooper originally danced Bourne's S Lake. This is him too.

  • @MrKLT1945 thanks :)

  • Am I the only one that has watched this movie a thousand and thirty four million times?

  • @flo1065 I love this movie!!! I can't stop watching it!

  • @flo1065 definitely not! i've watched this movie so many times and it never ceases to make me cry! :D LOVE the music in this movie too!

  • Das wäre auch das Finale meines Talents geworden!

  • Amazing scene!. The movie is really good with the good story, excellent actors .

  • Why Billy Elliot best friend which is Michael really looks like the kid that plays the role Michael

  • sueddeutsche.de/politik/wirtschaftsrat-der-cdu-breitseite-fuer-merkel-1.23743?uq=1312869670#kommentare

  • I love the emotion that comes from his father, even his brother accepts his gift and the over whelming pride shines through. Excellent scene

  • I saw this film a million times because I love this part... Thank's a lot for you! Emoke.

  • such a beautiful scene

Does anyone think though, (and this is nothing against this scene), that they should in a couple years' time remake this scene using Jamie and all the original actors for the characters?! Just for kicks you know? ;P <3

Don't get me wrong; I love this scene regardless!

  • Amazing final scene <3

    ='D

  • was billy bisexual or gay/

  • @Hallamfoebell why do you think so? just because he is a male ballet dancer?

  • @OlaNaTungee6 YEAH! oh no becuase I watched the film. he allowed his friend who was openly gay to touch him like that.

  • @Hallamfoebell

They were 2 kids... They were friends... I can see that you know nothing about it...

I know many MALE friends, where one of them is gay and the other has nothing to do with it...

  • @HelennaRainhaDeTroia Yeah you sure know me!

  • @Hallamfoebell

I'm sorry for my answer, you're right, I don't know you.

  • @Hallamfoebell

He says many times in the movie: "Just because I do ballet doesn't mean that I am gay (he doesn't say gay but i don't remmember)" "I'm not gay"

It's true... He didn't want nothing with Debbie... but that doesn't mean anything... And the kiss he gave to his friend... I think all of that it's a game made by the Director for the people to question themselves. (sorry about bad english)

  • @Hallamfoebell ..so what?

  • @Hallamfoebell neither, watch the film...

  • @KingTrebla I have and billy to me seemed gay or bisexual

  • @Hallamfoebell are you serious man? The whole movie was about him fighting against his father and stereotypes of male ballet dancers being gay and becoming what he wants to be regardless. He even says in the film "dancing's not just for poofs you know."

  • @KingTrebla Yeah I remember that. But he allowed his friend to put his hands on his naked skin remember? If Billy was firm in his beliefs he wouldnt have striked that boy who tried to comfort him not in a sexual way in a it will be ALL right.

  • i get goosbumps all over my body and then as soon as he does the leap, they all disappear

  • O how I wish that I could tap dance.............55 now to old to learn wow its looks like such reedom.............

And if only I had looked into the classes........

  • its such a shame that the film ended that way :(. But what a good movie though!

  • the gay friend should be cut from this scene ;P

  • have you ever been to Easington where the movie was made its amazing such poverty - I got lost & felt threatened as I was driving a mondeo sum rich bich but a stunningly beautiful vista

  • So they found a little kid who can act big deal I wouldn't waste my money on this crap I could do that easy!

  • @yadida707 Shut-up you stupid cunt, nobody wants to read your shitty comments.

  • So they found a little kid to male

  • I love this part so very much!!! -3

  • Ich liebe diese Sence

  • Best, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Omfg THIS IS MATTHEW BOURNES SWAN LAKE! AAARGHH!! :)

  • i loose my breath every time, so fucking beautiful!

  • I saw Adam Cooper at the theatre doing just this...he was AWESOME !!!!! :-)

  • Since 0:00 I have cried...

  • ooomg. the muscles on his shoulders are sooo damn sexy!!!

  • chi é il ballerino che interpreta questa scena? grazie!

  • @evamarina53 E'' Adam Cooper. (:

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE... ITS SO GREAT

  • This just makes me sob. It's perfect.

  • billy's dad has always reminded me of mine. A bit aggressive and protective of himself and his masculinity, but from day 1 has broken his back to provide for me and my brother and continues to sacrifice himself for us even now that I've started college. I'll always be in debt to him... and watching this ending always hits me..

  • @tipsycat27 I felt a tear in my eye reading your comment. It couldn't have described my dad better.

  • Now that we all know how Jamie Bell looks all grown-up, it's funny to see that the "Older Billy" doesn't look anything like him :) hehe lol..

  • I know i'm most likely going to get some people angry but is this a gay swan lake.......rofl

sorry everybody dislike ill stick with Black Swan =)

  • @feramere1 If you didn't knew yet, there IS a full male version of Swan Lake ;) that Pas de Quatre parody video is a part of it :)

  • @contortionist104 hmmm yeah im not digging that unless your into that type of stuff lol =)......but have fun and thanks for the info.......

  • @feramere1 Don't worry i'm not getting angry, the parody video is actually funny haha :)

  • Always makes me cry. Always.

  • brought a tear to my eye in 1:21 minutes.....wow

  • Love ittttttttt

  • Look at his dorsalscapular region:D wow!

  • i like Michael !!!!!

  • Master Achievement

  • Gary Lewis = God

  • @JAVAisdabest This is art! Stupid...

  • @JCMunchi no. slipknot is art. this is fake gay porno.

  • @JAVAisdabest Haahaahaahaa! You're so funny!

  • one of the best british films ever. period.

  • one of the best endings to a film EVER :-)

  • it's such a touching story, and when the older billy jumps out for the first time, the viwer can see that his dad accepts him being a ballet dancer and is proud of him xD

  • I watched this when I was too young to really appreciate all of this movie's elements, but now that I'm older...this scene is just indescribably beautiful. It may have been the most touching climax scene I ever watched.

We see now that Billy got past the world's expectations and is doing exactly what he had a passion for. We also see that Billy's father got past the world expectation barrier as well, and supported his son in doing what he wanted to do, instead of what the world wanted.

  • @Serasia

THIS SCENE... Omg, I saw it a thousand times! ( I saw the film yesterday) Such a great cinematographic quality! *_* I'm impressed...

The music, the facial expressions of the characters, the father, the friend, himself... His body (now older and evolved)... The colors! (here isn't possible to see the colors, but in the DVD it is)

    And the final jump! :D

  • real men can be swans.

  • That is what real men do. :I

  • 13 people r a bit dum

  • is billy the queen swan?

  • @luizismael yes, he is

  • HORRIBLE music at the end...

  • @pereiraelcristian

its T.Rex, theyre very good, if you listen well with an open mind

  • @Xloi63 i mean, the song is not bad, but its out of context. at the end of a scene like that you cant put that tune. but its a nice song...

  • @CAMILOSES1 Well Tchaikovsky is Tchaikovsky, fool!

  • daddy's face!!! very nice

  • The Best Part of the movie! :D

  • the movie black swan was horrible..... this movie is way better and the Tchaikovsky's song is playing at the right moment not like in black swan.....

  • @AntonRomashov Black Swan is a masterpiece by a master director

  • @AntonRomashov you're right

  • this song is in the movie black swan

  • @CAMILOSES1 I can't believe you just put this....You're surprised that a piece of music in Swan Lake is featured in a film about....Swan Lake?

  • @TheScrewball1982 dont surprised me,this just is a comment . TROLL!

  • P E R F E C T.......ESCENE AND BILLY TOO

  • Excelente película!!!

  • I could watch this scene over & over! Love this film!

  • @embracerandom - I couldn't agree more. It is so powerful and emotive. Takes my breath every time.

  • Adam Cooper is a god!!!

  • it's from matthew bourne's version of swan lake, where all the swans are males. it's a brilliant production, and the original main swan is the actor who plays older billy here :) i love this film so much <3

  • The Dad's expression when Billy comes out is the single most powerful piece of acting I have ever seen. Simple but knocks me flat.

  • whats the name of the song in the end, you hear it for about two seconds?

  • @M90042 the song at the end is Ride a White Swan by T. Rex. It is on the Billy Elliot movie soundtrack. They used about 5 of his songs. T Rex is also know as Marc Bolan.

  • The seconds between 0.10 and 0.15 are the best in the film XD

  • I'm not sure about this but I think that was an actual ballet troupe's all male production of Swan Lake, and he was playing the White Swan. I mean that's the most famous music from the piece.

  • SO FIT

  • What scene/act is this part from in the actual swan lake?

  • @macboiguy it's just the final scene, from act IV (:

  • @maxi36440529 cheers. Looked at the finale of the matthew bourne version (which this part of billy elliott is based on i think) and the incredible leap isnt there...

is it just for the film, or am i looking at the wrong part?

  • Lol, I may not be any expert, but wouldn't they have to actually shave their chests in reality?

  • @blueishmonkey1 If they have lots of hair they sometimes do, but they aren't too bothered unless they look like a gorilla :)

  • @Solyle37 that's the only thing I really didn't like about the movie that they cut out the most gorgeous scene !!

  • I would have made this scene longer

  • Sighhhhhhh

  • matthew borne is perfect x

  • For me, Billy's dad is half of what makes the emotional impact of this scene. I mean, it's obviously about Billy and the length of his journey, but his family creates a great contrast.

You know his dad stayed back in "Everington" and broke his back so that Billy could make it. Now he is lost in this "big city" not knowing what to expect.

And the moment Billy jumps on stage this man who "never went past Durham" sees how all of his faith and sacrifice delivered.

    It's just so fucking beautiful.

  • @Ebvardh

    100% agree!

  • @Ebvardh that is also one of my favourite moment if not the best of the whole movie! i adore this film is very touching.

  • @Ebvardh When you first see or hear somethng for the first time that's deeply moving, it takes your breath away. Literally. I saw a picture in the Tate Gallery, a turner one, one of those with the sun burning brightly on the water and my heart missed a beat. I wasn't the only one it happened too. Another woman coming round the corner saw it and at the same time as me and I could see her missing a heart beat too. It's a fantastic feeling. Imaging your son having that same effect on you.

  • @geekygirl111

It's powerful. In it's entirety, that is.

Look at the dad with the expectant smile. I remember having a similar smile when I traveled with my mother to NYC.

    Beautiful moments life gives us.

  • @Ebvardh the man who never went past Durham is Scotish PMSL

  • @cromarty55

... Why must you wreck my happiness?

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE

  • one of the best scenes in film history! it gives me goose bumps and brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it...

  • que orquesta es?

  • this part always gives me goosebumps.....
