We'd "test fire" the Mark 19, 50 Cal, 240B, 249, M204, M4, M9 and sometimes some grenades in the middle of the desert when we were en route to a village/mission. We would only shoot off a couple of rounds but after a while you start getting stressed out so everyone would let loose a whole bunch of rounds, O, and we shot some at the enemy too so it wasnt all a waste for those of you complaining :)

yeah its a waste of ammunition, but sometimes it's gotta be done... Alot of times ammunition reaches its' shelf life and has to be used up, otherwise it's an ordinance risk. My buddys unit fired over a million dollars worth of ammo in 5.56, .50, and a shit ton of explosives once in two days time, both as training and dickin around becuase it was so old. If it sat any longer the ordinance guys were going to have to trash it, and most likely blow it all anyways.

We'd "test fire" the Mark 19, 50 Cal, 240B, 249, M204, M4, M9 and sometimes some grenades in the middle of the desert when we were en route to a village/mission. We would only shoot off a couple of rounds but after a while you start getting stressed out so everyone would let loose a whole bunch of rounds, O, and we shot some at the enemy too so it wasnt all a waste for those of you complaining :)

this is for everyone trying to figure out if their in the marines or army.. unless u see their patch u might never know because the army and marines wear the same camo, they just differ depending on where they are.. marines have marpat which is a popular thing for them to wear and it looks just like woodland digital but a little darker. and they both wear ACU like they are in the video.. and both the army and the marines would definatly wear ACU in that type of enviorment

@creil8 They are army, the marines and army do not wear the same uniform. Army digital and marine digital are completely different colors. And only the marines have two different digital uniforms. The army wears the same ACU all the time. The army wears the uniform you see in this video which has a light green tint to it and everything is velcro whereas the marines have the dark green and the tan digital uniforms and everything is sewn on.

I know what soldiers do chum. The Falklands in '82, Iraq in '92 and, after leaving the Army, 2 years in Bosnia from '93 to '95. My point was that just like other professionals, soldiers have standards too.

yeah its a waste of ammunition, but sometimes it's gotta be done... Alot of times ammunition reaches its' shelf life and has to be used up, otherwise it's an ordinance risk. My buddys unit fired over a million dollars worth of ammo in 5.56, .50, and a shit ton of explosives once in two days time, both as training and dickin around becuase it was so old. If it sat any longer the ordinance guys were going to have to trash it, and most likely blow it all anyways.
