only one beatles song in the whole list? i really dont think that makes it a very good list except for some of it but if your only gonna have one beatles song it should be #1 then
great list i dont think come together should be first or in the top ten to be honest its a medicore song but thats just my opinion i think the doors should be first
Man that was close, I watched the whole thing waiting for The Beatles, and I was like there has to be at least one Beatles song on this list. And it ended up being number 1.
@Grungeman23 want me to edit wikipedia so it says December 30, 2086? Anyone can edit that website, and many people do because they dont have lives. For future references, don't always rely on that website.
do any of youse think its weird that a 14yr old is interested in 60 coz i love the 60s and thses days tech isnt like the 60s it would be fun in those days
@iamtheeggman0 There seems to be an unwritten law that when you make a list like this you only put one song per band or artist in it. Most people seem to respect that rule. I agree with you that the Beatles were the top band in the 60s but their best songs were often not "rock". You can't put Yesterday, Girl, Something etc in a list of rock-songs. :)
@Grungeman23 Come together is a rock song in my book but sometimes it's not really clear what's rock and what's pop or R&B. They're just labels. I have a playlist of the 10 best rock songs of the 60s. As usual when compared with other lists on YT, with you I only have "My Generation" in common. :)
That top ten is pretty packed, had 4 songs from 67. I agree that a beatles song should be number one, but come together? They've had way better songs than that. Here's my top ten bands of the 60's
@ben6077 Agreed them and the Beatles and the who all shared the stage they were music unlike nowadays. they didnt have that Lady Gaga And justin Bieber. back then you didnt have to look good to have talent. but now its all about the record sales, when really it matters on the quality and talent the band has not the rep or Looks.
Awesome compilation! You used a lot of songs that usually fly under the radar on most lists like these. Especially pleased that you included Del Shannon and put The Beatles as no. 1!
@fannyluna12 it was not so great as it sounded as this was the time of the vietnam war where young men were forced to go from usa & australia & if they opposed they would be beaten up & imprisoned. if yu noticed even the songs including the beatles started to change their tune with rebellious meanings especially towards the 70s
at nr5 i was thinking , WHERE the fuck is led zeppelin they are the rock gods and hell the Beatles should have atleast 10 songs here .. anyways was a very wellthought and nicely put togheter list gj man !
thx for giving the names on some of the more ''underdogs'' bands i cant remember
Not only awesome - all top 30 of the '60 with "Come Together" as #1 is a great group of WORDS, INSTRUMENTS, EMOTIONS,PASSIONS, PEOPLE that equals MUSIC...
alright so i just heard this older song on the radio and the like guitar or synth not sure what it is but its like "waaaaaaa wa nana na naaaa wa nanana naaaaaa" something like that i couldn't hear the lyrics if anyone knows what i'm talking about?!
@kyletrueman17 no it's not hey jude, i woulda known hey jude lol idk it probably was a one hit wonder i was in a family restaurant and it was on the radio really don't even know what it was anymore or how it went
@Grungeman23 I am so glad that you know that they are very important I love them and I was hoping that you would at least put one Beatles song in there
@randompotatoemonkey i don't know how someone could deny it. led zeppelin was fucking awesome but the beatles were something more than music. they revolutionized everything. everything. our life, our culture, our way of thinking... and completely reinvented music forever.
Can someone help me with this Im looking for a rock song of the 60s or maybe from the 70s (not sure) that make use of a gong ... I dont know the name of the band but they sing in harmony a bit like the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel (maybe its from one of those bands but I really dont know...). That song is beautiful and I looked for it for many years now...Thank in advance for your help!
Definitely a good list, especially the top 10, but I would have put Hendrix, the Doors, the Stones, Zep, and Dylan all above the Beatles. I think that the Beatles' most important work of the probably came off of Sgt. Peppers. Overall good list tho
Except for 2 of the songs, YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!! Thanks for the memories.
