  • Moon colonization ... its not a question of if. Its a question of when.

  • they talked about making moon livable ~50 years ago, but probably thats will cost for hollywood too much.

As we know the most expensive movies made by hollywood where

    1. landing on the moon [short version back in ...]

    2. avatar

  • I still can't believe that we haven't sent another manned mission to the moon in 37 years! We used to send them on average every 5.2 months (Apollo 8 thru Apollo 17). I think they found something and decided not to tell the public of any future missions. The absence of manned moon missions is deafening.

  • ...or apollo ran out of money...

if we spent what we spent in iraq imagine what we would have?

one of the fails with the moon program was that the public's lack of interest in science. the "were first" ran out and it got boring.

america will not be returning, that is for sure. the flame will be passed to another nation with better interests in science and off world resources. that is if humanity is lucky.

  • although i will not rule out the US being involved in a joint effort.

  • You have got to be kidding me! "The pubics's lack of interest in science"? I highly doubt that. Something was found back in 1976 on the Moon, and it so huge that every Super Power is still debating it.

  • @dustdevil75 Something was found back in 1976 on the Moon, and it so huge<<

Yeah; like that's where they buried Jimmy Hoffa, I think!

  • LOL! I wouldn't doubt they sent Hoffa out there. Seriously, something big was found on the far-side of the Moon.

Look up AS15-P-9625 on the Lunar & Planetary Institute website.

They are right of the double impact crater known as Itzak D.

  • @yellowdart137 apollo ran out of money...

Look whoever you are. With 40 years of superior technology it would have been cheaper, safer faster and logical to go to the moon today.

  • @dustdevil75

Your moonship is only light and shadowplay with indentations of rock and jagged lines etc. Not an alien ship. Pretty funny though.

  • Well prove it. I want to see your irrefutable research that this is "only light and shadowplay". Back it up or go away.

  • @dustdevil75 vomit, rot, corruption

  • Oh and by the way. It's not my "moonship" Edward. Do some research before you disappear like in other comments. Stand your ground....

  • @dustdevil75 vomit, rot, corruption

  • For CHRIST SAKE!

JUST GIVE US THE FUCKING UNCOMPRESSED IMAGES ALREADY!

  • They are talking about making the moons surface livable so their first step is to nuke it lol? Millions die every year from starvation and our nation's greatest minds are used developing space travel.

I find it all rather hypocritical. The only people who could ever live on the moon would be the eliteist of the rich. So the people who decide who declares wars and gets blown to shreads can bail when they destroy Earth. Lovely!

  • You're an idiot. NASA is given a budget, so what's so wrong with spending it? Even if they didn't do this mission, they would still have their money, it wouldn't go to the poor. What's wrong for trying to find a new place for humanity to live in?

  • That's a foolish point to make - obviously the issue is not how the budget is spent but the size of the budget and the potential for good on earth that money could have. The whole of the western world wants to go to space but the correct moral option is not to spend such vast sums on what, in reality, has little benefit for mankind as a whole.

  • @SecularSaracen

moon vomit, rot, corruption, all done with crayola

  • Dear brown55061:

    Get a life.

  • I have one, and I rather enjoy it. Just because you disagree with how I would prefer our government to spend MY tax dollars, does not justify your points.

Now they are saying they found ancient ruins on the moon, something Armstrong supposedly recorded 30 years ago. They really think we are all incompetent I guess. Like we couldn't handle the truth.

  • NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, has returned its first imagery of the Apollo moon landing sites. The pictures show the Apollo missions' lunar module descent stages sitting on the moon's surface, as long shadows from a low sun angle make the modules' locations evident.

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera, or LROC, was able to image five of the six Apollo sites, with the remaining Apollo 12 site expected to be photographed in the coming weeks.

  • didnt mean to thumbs down i want to go there too!

  • I hope this time it won't be fake...And I also hope to see the place where they landed back in '69.

  • LRO is in company with United States Merchant Marine Able Seaman David Jason Silver. Silver was inserted on an microchip that was placed on LRO.

    LRO PARTICIPANT

    David Jason Silver

  • this looks like muvie trailer

  • coming soon June 2009

    I also thought that :-)

  • The Next Step???

40 years ago nasa was 1000000 steps ahead of today!

  • that what i thought, but think about it. All we know about our moon is that it's gray dull rock on the outside. There's lots of things we need to know about our moon. Anyway, what do you expect them to do, go to Jupiter?

  • @ CJCymru

all i expect them to do, is telling the people the truth about what they do.

  • they do tell the truth

  • i hope they do and did 40 years ago...

  • They probably did stage the first landing just to win the race and get some cash.

  • Anyone got the name of the song?

  • Heh, i sent my name with it :d

  • When the rocket poped up and the music kicked in... Mmmm, me like ^^. I want that song.

  • i want to the moon i won a compitision for 10000 meters they phone me if they go on it i told them once to bring back a pice of the moon i smells like cheese lol its cool this is the live

  • I want to go to the Moon!

  • me like.

  • Glenn, with two n,s never went too the moon. where did youdo your research ?

  • All of this is true.

  • The LRO dosn't have humans on it

  • Yeah that's true i mistakened the LRO with a future manned space craft nasa's planning to send out to the moon.

But anyway i know This missions gonna be a great success!

  • Awesome ¡¡¡ the presentation is like a movie trailer, better that this because it's real.

  • yaaah!

  • nice

  • Magnificent. Looking forward to see the images.
