  • Couldn't find "The March of Time: Birth of Swing" on YouTube :(

  • @MooPotPie It's posted on the channel of YT user adamgswanson.

  • If you want to see some short film footage of J. Russel Robinson playing the piano, check out the Youtube clip "The March of Time: Birth of Swing"; Robinson is audible (and visible, and stops and says a few things) from 1:16 to 1:38. I think (but am not sure) that he's playing "Livery Stable Blues". If so, he plays it quite differently than the original ODJB recording. He is also seen and mentioned from 4:36 to 4:42. But watch the whole thing, it's fantastic!

  • Fantastic straight-8ths blues!

    Terrific 1920s rock piano playing!

    THANKS!!!

Watch my channel for a straight-8ths Robinson-style performance posting soon!
