The problem with the show is that it the characters rely to much on "destiny". So they probably can't have Merlin and Gaius helping Morgana, because it's probably "not her destiny" (After all, "evil" is already her destiny is it not?). Not to sound too critical, I like the show, but I feel it's concept of destiny isn't very good for their plots.
Did you hear Colin "If we do come together again, that would be where"- Morgana's due to find out about Merlin's Magic in Series 4, I'm starting to see a bigger picture (maybe they didn't want to go with Katie's storyline, just then because they were planning on using it in Series4/5.
yeah, would have been nice having a little bit more of a romance between the two of them ... then Morgana's changing the sides would have been more dramatic and maybe even more realistic. for example she could have found out about him being a magician by accident and be absolutly mad at him for not telling her and not teaching her how to deal with her magic. and Merlin would've had all the more reason to still protect and believe in her in a way. they really did miss an opportunity there!
Poor Merlin never gets a love interest that lasts. I mean, they made Nimue a villain, and then some other woman is now the Lady of the Lake. The most he ever seems to get is a bromance with Arthur :D

I just feel like they feel cornered and they are just fighting back for their right to freedom..... morgana has more than enough reason to want to kill uther... and even mordred who's been hunted like an animal since he was a kid obviously he'd want the person who was responsible for that dead..... Even morgause and Nimueh.... They're just fighting back for their right....

...google is your friend. The entire of the first season of Merlin aired in the UK ten months ago now. At the very least, wikipedia will provide the answers to most of your questions. Not necessarily--that would happen at the very end of the show, it could be after A/Mo happens--and it would make Arthur/Morgana all the more angsty. I've always seen her going to the dark side, it's part of the legend, and is part of why Arthur/Morgana is so doomed...
