The Carina E is much more spacious and comfortable than the Corolla, but the 1990 Corolla hatchback was more nimble on the road.

Totally agree! only one thing, the original name of the car is Toyota Corona, anyway whether called Carina E or Corona, this car is the best Toyota ever made, with incredible engine, performance, style, confortable and elegance.

i have 1997 a 1.6 petrol carina e great car far better than the 90s corolla. but this is probly because the corolla is 1.4

The MPG rating in the commercial, I can believe. I drove a 50 mile trip, at about 45 mph(slippery road), and the gas needle didn't even move.

Agreed, it's got lots of space, and is good to drive and has decent performance.
I just bought my Carina E. It's a 93 mod., with barely 40 000 miles.
