I have an e revo with a suspension problem. When I have all of my pushrods in the same hole, the front sits higher no matter what. I tried switching the shocks around but nothing. I had to put the back pushrods one hole higher to get it to sit level but someone told me not to do that. Any suggestions?
@tekstyle373 Did you over amp? Seems to be a common trend with RC car guys to have no idea how many amps they are pulling... We have had fets go in our Boat ESC's but its always from over amping.

no, it was fet failure. I had only been running 90 seconds when this happened. I was geared on the conservative side, and the motor and battery were ambient temp.
When I took the esc apart it had failed on a fet in the middle of the pcb and started a chain reaction.
I had about $1350 into that truck. $320 was the dx3r radio, $290 was the neu 1515 1y, $150 for the 5s lipo. $225 for the quark 125b, $200 for a revo 3.3 roller, $150 in hopups (TiN gtr shocks, rpm arms, and a few other goodies I forget now)

1) When i made this vid there was no such thing as a mamba monster on the market, a V1 replaced the quark, a V2 when the bec died in the V1 and a V3 when the bec died on the V2. It ran it with a V3 for 6 months then sold it to convert a Mugen buggy.
2) I can drive, we were just screwing around that day.

The ESC died do to faulty esc. It had intenal failure, the fire started in the middle of the controller. Nothing changed from this video to the next esc I got.

Nitro is not consistent power. The power curve on electric is steeper than gas(nitro). A electric truck will drag your nitro truck all day while you try to get into your power band.
yeah lol toy grade electric RC's at walmart suck.... however a brushless e-revo that doesn't go up in smoke like this one can beat a good portion of nitro RCs... and you don't have to freakin tune it every 3 seconds

Because nitros have maintenance and can be dangerous (not a toy), and walmart doesn't sell BRUSHLESS RC's (not a toy either), and the ones they sell are toys that are not dangerous and are slow and are not repairable

a nitro revo is fatser than an e-revo. the brushless edition or brushless converted e-revo will be faster than a nitro revo. As far as handling, a revo is a revo!
not to mention electric is more of a plug in and rather then hoping it will start, then tune it, then tune it some more, add more gas... then it dies, start it again adjust lsn etc.. lol
go to where you bought the e-revo and get an extension. Mine is a converted revo 3.3 not the rtr e-revo, so I am not to sure about battery issues with the rtr.
I want to see how a large brushless helicopter electric motor would do in a e-revo. It would have no reverse but who cares. Saw a e-maxx done that way thing would go 80 mph crazy stuff.
spend that sort of money on rc you should really protect yourself futher and buy the spectrum with telemetry it would show you temps also. great truck btw

guy everyone,i just got the e-revo about a week ago and im looking to put a brushless motor and esc system in it anyone have any suggestions on what i should put in it??
The Revo, E-maxx and any other large vehicle should only be ran with the motors designed like the Novak HV maxx 6.5 or 4.5, the Mamba Monster ESC and motor combo, Neu or Feigao motors. If you use something small like the Traxxas BL or sidewinder it will overheat unless you run two which is a waste.
Normal electric motors have small "brushes" or contacts that spin in the center of the motor and periodically contact the metal on the perimeter of the inside casing and long story short gets the motor moving. Brushless motors have NO brushes and work in a totally different way, not 100% sure, go look it up on wikipedia. They are much more effecient as there is no contact going on in the motor and no heat losses due to friction. So they end up being much more powerful from the less friction.
the terrian is too rough and sticky for the gearing andor motor choice.you can here it laboring like a DC setup almost.the way you had it set up it sounds like it would be better suited to onroad driving speed runs.
If the esc could have kept up the pace then soon the motor wouldve heated right up,or thermal shutdown.that esc should have cut itself off before blowing up.maybe it was a capacitor that blew in the esc,rctekno has a motor that might have suited the terrian but they cost alot.
The motor is a Neu 1515 1y/s geared 17/38 Mod 1, it should have been fine for offroad and in all previous bash session was, the esc never got over 125 degrees F. It was not laboring at all, wheel spin was an issue do to loose sand, but it was not laboring.
It was not a failed capacitor, I took the esc apart, it was catastrophic fet failure from the center of the esc. I had bashed this exact setup in sand before with no issues, heat ater 45 mins of running was esc 125, motor 122, batteries 92.
yeah, 5s lipo in a rusty would be faster, much faster, but not on a vxl. It would fry that as soon as you powered it on. you would need another esc and 5s capable motor.

I had that setup after this. My Neu 1515 1y is the same motor as a castle 2200. Castle leases the design rights from Steve Neu.
It worked great! watch some of my other revo video's like to see it in action.

my MMM runs on a 200+ amp 10,000mah 6cell LIPO and hasnt fried yet, and its a V1, guess im lucky.

go to where you bought the e-revo and get an extension. Mine is a converted revo 3.3 not the rtr e-revo, so I am not to sure about battery issues with the rtr.

I want to see how a large brushless helicopter electric motor would do in a e-revo. It would have no reverse but who cares. Saw a e-maxx done that way thing would go 80 mph crazy stuff.

spend that sort of money on rc you should really protect yourself futher and buy the spectrum with telemetry it would show you temps also. great truck btw

The Revo, E-maxx and any other large vehicle should only be ran with the motors designed like the Novak HV maxx 6.5 or 4.5, the Mamba Monster ESC and motor combo, Neu or Feigao motors. If you use something small like the Traxxas BL or sidewinder it will overheat unless you run two which is a waste.

Normal electric motors have small "brushes" or contacts that spin in the center of the motor and periodically contact the metal on the perimeter of the inside casing and long story short gets the motor moving. Brushless motors have NO brushes and work in a totally different way, not 100% sure, go look it up on wikipedia. They are much more effecient as there is no contact going on in the motor and no heat losses due to friction. So they end up being much more powerful from the less friction.

brushed means electric goes through the brushes, brushless electric goes through the air. brush is cleaner though

the terrian is too rough and sticky for the gearing andor motor choice.you can here it laboring like a DC setup almost.the way you had it set up it sounds like it would be better suited to onroad driving speed runs.
If the esc could have kept up the pace then soon the motor wouldve heated right up,or thermal shutdown.that esc should have cut itself off before blowing up.maybe it was a capacitor that blew in the esc,rctekno has a motor that might have suited the terrian but they cost alot.

The motor is a Neu 1515 1y/s geared 17/38 Mod 1, it should have been fine for offroad and in all previous bash session was, the esc never got over 125 degrees F. It was not laboring at all, wheel spin was an issue do to loose sand, but it was not laboring.
It was not a failed capacitor, I took the esc apart, it was catastrophic fet failure from the center of the esc. I had bashed this exact setup in sand before with no issues, heat ater 45 mins of running was esc 125, motor 122, batteries 92.

It is not the lipo that went up, the lipo is still fine and has seen many uses since this day. The Quark Monster pro 125b ESC fried.

yeah, 5s lipo in a rusty would be faster, much faster, but not on a vxl. It would fry that as soon as you powered it on. you would need another esc and 5s capable motor.

traxxas gave already brang out a e-revo. They have also brang out a traxxas slash which is a short cicuit racer. both are water proof.
