Star Raiders - Game Review

I wish I could see a show of the original Star Raiders for the 2600 with the keypad

It's the version for the Atari 400/800. This was also my favorite computer game as a kid.

This is my fav game too ..till Date! (Maybe i dont play that much nowadays ;) )

but I downloaded a Atari simulator and the game; but they didn't match.

Anyone know where I can get the game (and a corresponding simulator to run on)?

WOW! The sound... those shooting and warp sounds... I don't know why, but I felt some sort of eerie happiness and emotion, almost like crying. Stupid subconscious! XD

I suggest you trying the game "Free Allegiance", I think you might like it.

What makes this game still fun to play today is that there are no others like it. Also how did you record this?

V is for velocity. K is for kills. T is the target indicator which will read 1 or 2 depending on the number of enemies you are currently engaging. T will read 0 for no enemies, and will read 3 for a star base. Indicator on lower left is enemy tracking horizontal. Indicator on lower middle is enemy tracking vertical. R on the lower right is range of enemy. The lower the number, the closer the enemy is. A minus reading means the enemy is behind you. :)

BTW, the actual Star Raiders game run much faster than the apparent 20FPS in this video.

One other thing is that I miss those old rankings, especially "Garbage Scow Captain". The best money I ever spent on an 800XL game besides pitfall 2.

Thanks for the great video which allowed me to revisit and vicariously recall fond childhood memories. I have no idea what made me look up 800XL stuff on youtube, but had to see if anyone uploaded star-raiders and here it is.

It was my very fav game for the 800XL. I saved up quite a bit of allowance to by this sucker. I had more fun playing this than many later games on other systems.

I too agree that this should be remade.
