but you don't seem to enjoy the music you are playing.. which makes me not enjoy it either.. there are phrases that you do not end. you're playing the piece as if you were mowing the lawn, no pleasure in doing it, instead, just hoping to be done with it soon.
sorry, no big up from me for this interpretation..
and shame on you at 5:55 .. how dare you not even enjoy the climax of the piece
I am sorry, I don't see what all the other people find so great about this performance ?
to name a few things that are to my distaste:
Mazintas obviously tries to imitate the energy that Gould puts into this piece, but constantly is ahead of the orchestra, or at least rushes it. the tones are not long enough to be tasted and their energy appreciated.. just like your etude op.10 n.12, you have an alright technique (piano skills are obviously there),
Way too much pedal. This is baroque music, what are you doing?! Totally out of proportion. This pianist should learn that these kind of pieces have to sound like a dance, not like Rach 3
I'm a huge Gould fan... but this guy plays this Concerto very good, he expresses a lot, that's the most important, he reaches out, and touches the audience. BRAVO!!

I think it's the recording quality that makes it sounds over pedalled. If you watch closely you can where he pedals and it's not overdone

Great energy! But I think he puts too much pedal.

After I listened to Glenn Gould play this, this one sounds too too fast! Like they are hurrying to get it over with.
