you're the first person to properly test a shotgun mic. thanks for uploading. Would you choose this mic over the NTG 2 and the AT897? due to my budget, I will be using the same shotgun mic for indoor, and outdoor use.
Thanks for the test ... great frequency response, dynamic and directivity - I saw the mic for 200$ ... you mentioned 450 bucks, is there something external that you need to operate it, that I forgot?
Hi! did you used a hipass filter from a plug-in or mixer to have this result? I'm going to buy this mic in a couple weeks but I need to know about it first. Tank you.
does the mic, affect the quality of noise when filming? As I've got rode shock mount and pole, but when ever I hit the pole, it captures the noise, (sort of, the mic was hit) and that really restrict me in literally, moving a bit the mic, as it makes the unwanted sound effect. Is that a problem from the mic? As I'm searching for buying this sennheizer k6, but I really don't wish to end up with the same problem.
@xonkarate That is normal for a boomed mic. You have to practice walking/holding the boom lightly. Walk like your on ice or egg shells and "Handling Noise" will drop.
@xonkarate quality shockmount would be good and maybe a pistol grip would make it easier to handle. These would help. But I think innerlude's given you the best advice in that your greatest gains will come about in developing your mic handling technique as I imagine you need that boompole to mic from a distance...?
@imangelanjo I'm aware that your comment is a year old, but I wanted to respond anyway.
I totally agree with You. I've had both microphones and there is no question that the Sennheiser sounds better. The Rode is not a bad mike, it's smaller and lightweight (which is nice if you carry a lot of gear) but soundwise it doesn't compare to the ME66. But then again it only cost less than half of the Sennheiser, I think.
Mel Gibson and Steve Carell got out of from mixer =)

@ruffino82 NTG2 and AT897 are more sweet that the ME66.
Sound of the 66 is little agressive, little bit metallic.

Does the k6 power module come with the shogun or must that be purchased separately?
