Man, you had such luck on that turn! A coin and star bonus, then you got to play the best 2 VS 2 Minigame in the entire game. Almost anyone would kill to be in that position.
You are wrong about money belts.When im up like you, i take 30-35 coins and the other 5-7. Its really a good mini-game for the player who is alone. I see they take 23, you didnt play it good. No offense :)
I didn't think the strategic steal was necessary, DK was probably always going to have gone in the star's direction anyway.
Also with Dungeon Duos, if you'd've kept rotating the single platform along with Peach it would've moved faster. It's a neat little trick for setting good records.
