If you know what an exchange is and a shared internet cable then this will help you know why:

1) The farther away you are from your exchange, the slower your internet is,

2) It depends where you live. Some people are very lucky if they have broadband sometimes.

3) If you are on a shared internet cable, that makes the internet a lot slower as well.
