The suppliers of parts for GM and the other auto makers also supply the MILITARY so its a national security issue if the parts suppliers are hurt if GM shuts down. We need to simply force them to reduce upper manmagement and Ceo compensation, dividens and some workers pay and innovate. We need at least one major auto maker. Also why allow foreign cars to come here and ours face trade barriers and tarrifs in other countires?

I hope we have the courage to let GM go under. We need to let some of the waste out of the system. We need to set a new labor relationship with the automakers along the lines of the auto plants in the South that are non-union and making great "foreign" cars in America. Sure, throw the management bums out but make sure the union leeches are booted with them.

How about stop making cars every year to every 4 years. Or stop making different brand names when the models are identical. (Ford/Merc. The economic crisis is the result of BUSH and Henry Paulson.Cox decided to reregulate as of Sept2008.But it was too late.Paulson was appointed by Bush in 2004.Paulson worked on WallSteet & was a major pusher in the deregulation of house markets.Thus causing,money lent & due to no income growth for the middle class for 5 years,they couldn't keep on the loans.This is a short version.I ask everyone to research this,don't use the media.
