it was close to being a disaster from start to finish i think. but kind of impressive that you have been playing guitar for only 3 years and then play this song. It requires a lot of technique, practise and feel. Nice guitar and tone though. keep rockin!
but it's not my mix:P this is the live mix going straight to the recorder. It was done by my school, so it wasn't recorded and mixed very professional:P still very nice of them to record the performences though.
good stuff man, you played it a bit emotionless, i'd imagine the nervous would have done that - i know what its like, but still did fantastic man. check out my clips if you want!
You did a great job, bro! I did notice some big screw-ups but you know, that kind of caliber of playing? It's expected :P Especially if this is your first big performance.
For me, I actually perform better in front of a lot of people. I play for my church, and every morning we've got about 800 in their :D
But anyway, considering what you were playing live, solid 4 star performance. Your bandmates could learn a lesson or two from your example :P
yes you have skills, obviously, but an advice : try to practice this song very slow, and increase the speed, it would be very constructive for you, and you notes placement.
woow man this is nice, how did you worked, to get this result ?? cuz I'm a guitar player for almost 4 years so I know how hardis this song, in 4 or 5 days I'll do my Glasgow kiss cover of the G3 tour with John Petrucci, if you want I'll give u the link.
The bass player is amazing but the drums player ..... not really awesome, but nice.
And I started practicing this song around a year and a half ago.
I really wanted to be able to play this song because once i could, many other songs would be a lot easyer to play.
Just start really slowly and be patient playing it as perfect as possible on a slow tempo. When that feels comfortable you can go to the next level (faster). And so on :P
Great guitar work, your profile says you've been playing less than three years too, great dedication, it shows. My only gripe with this performance was your band mates to be honest, the drumming was very weak and by the end it lost a lot of the excitement. Don't be afraid to be a showman, thats what seperates great guitarists from professional guitarists.
Our school isn;t very good at mixing stuff,, as you can probably notice, the drums are too hard and the bass volume is too low :P.
Also at the end,, my guitar loses volume because of the bad mixing,,, so that could be why it loses excitement.
And shure there are always better musicians,, but for me they where the best I could get and they practiced a lot, so I stil think they did a great job.
I'm also working on being a showman, but it was my first performance for 600 people :P
Ya, I noticed the volume thing. All of this was just constructive criticism. You did a really great job, and it could of been a lot better if the people around you were as good as you are. Regardless, really great, and I still can't believe you've been playing for such a little amount of time. How much time do you dedicate each day to guitar?
I was in the audience, and everyone was blown away, it was amazing. I was all like: wtf!! this can't be true, this is so damn good!! (corné jij kent mij niet denk ik)
Oi Joris hier!! Kan niet wachten op een repetitie man! :D Zullen we ook Grand Conjuration doen? Vind ik ook een echt vet stoer nummer :) Nice performed btw! :D
I'm impressed on how well the guitarist played, even with the drummer butchering the song.
