You are most definately confused. Interstates, Energy subsidy, Farm subsidy, Schools, and many other things are paid for by taxes. Interstates are not covered by fees and tolls in general. I also take a lot of issue with your concept that the Fed is prohibited, I am like you if states and locals would do this it would be nice, but they don't. I am not totally convinced that the Constitution rules out some socialist ideas.

I love the Constitution, but I do not pretend it is without flaw. Here is a question to think about when judging these candidates. Who is talking to the emotions and who is talking content? Emotions are important because it shows that the person understands the people, but content shows what they will do to act off of the emotions. Hillary and Edwards both talk mainly about emotions. Obama is the only one that really talks in detail about content and has a great plan. Unless I see more content for the other two Obama is the best candidate.
Not necessairly. Edwards has talked in-depth about his plans and vision for America, especially which policies he would implement. I like Obama too, I would just like to hear him go a little bit more in detail on his healthcare plan and other policies he has in mind.

I heard Clinton, Obama and Edwards' speech. And a lot of people say that Obama was the best, but I just don't understand why so. I used to think I could get behind Obama until I read he is for expanding NAFTA style trade agreements into South America. He supports the awful Peru Free Trade Agreement. Edwards is the only Dem I'm aware of who strongly opposes it. This is the first issue with Obama I have a serious problem with. Not sure I could support him. What a guy. Purchases a large piece of land, clear cuts most of the trees, builds a huge house and then gives his neighbors a hard time because they live in trailer houses and own guns. This guy does not give the shit about the poor and middle class and I think he wants to take our guns away.

But candidate do you think is going to support America and people who were doing fine until they got cancer and lost all there money and are up to there noses in medical expenses and debt? When I was in England I had to under go a major operations and the hospital was modified to give me a $50 dollar bill! Which I only got because I was a US citizen. Here in the US I got stitches on my pinkie THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Because Edwards was a "little guy" for a majority of his life unlike the other candidates. But I personally like to think at least one politician has a shred of humanity and would show compassion and empathy for all people not just the wealthy. Edwards a "little guy" most of his life? He has succeeded in fooling you too. I live not too far from him. The little pink house u see in ads was where he lived until he was "1". He then moved to a nice brick home in NC, went to a major Univ, etc. He did NOTHING for NC & dubbed no-show Edwards because he was 50% absent. It's all about power..he could really give 2 shits. Did he offer anything to the Katrina victims? NO. His mortg deal is foreclsing on homes now in NewOrleans

clearly you have never read the constitution. we elect federal officials to decide on legistlation that has to do with the 8 things enumerated in the constitution. i'm not going to tell you what they are so maybe you would actually read it yourself. anything else,beside these 8 things, including healthcare, is unconstitutional. and, taxing and redistributing income to private individuals or corporations is socialist. do you need a dictionary? don't give me this "it's democracy" rhetoric.

You are most definately confused. Interstates, Energy subsidy, Farm subsidy, Schools, and many other things are paid for by taxes. Interstates are not covered by fees and tolls in general. I also take a lot of issue with your concept that the Fed is prohibited, I am like you if states and locals would do this it would be nice, but they don't. I am not totally convinced that the Constitution rules out some socialist ideas.

The primary messages of the Constitution are Power to the People, Equality of people, and the building of a more perfect Union. I always find it laughable when people suggest that we are somehow operating either solely in a democracy, or in a capitalist soc., or by the Const. as originally written. Remember amendments? The fact remains that public healthcare, especially done in the amazingly good fashion we know the US can, would be the best step toward building a more perfect union, which is what we should be about. I love the Constitution, but I do not pretend it is without flaw. If we provided mandatory healthcare it would be through an amendment, and it would be both in our peoples best interest and then Constitutional.

Here is a question to think about when judging these candidates. Who is talking to the emotions and who is talking content? Emotions are important because it shows that the person understands the people, but content shows what they will do to act off of the emotions. Hillary and Edwards both talk mainly about emotions. Obama is the only one that really talks in detail about content and has a great plan. Unless I see more content for the other two Obama is the best candidate.

Not necessairly. Edwards has talked in-depth about his plans and vision for America, especially which policies he would implement. I like Obama too, I would just like to hear him go a little bit more in detail on his healthcare plan and other policies he has in mind.

I heard Clinton, Obama and Edwards' speech. And a lot of people say that Obama was the best, but I just don't understand why so. I mean, I like Hillary, and Obama is a good choice too, but we should not have to choose between 'ok' and 'not bad,' we need someone real good to clean up the mess left behind. I am starting to see that in Edwards. But we still need to really judge all these people with scrutiny, like Edwards himself said, and then decide.

He's good, but he doesn't inspire me in the same way Obama does. I'll vote for Obama, and I think that an Obama/Edwards ticket would assure that we have sixteen years of honest politics, I do believe that. However, I also really believe it's Obama, not Edwards that can set the stage for all that and actually get elected. I would implore all the caucas goers for Edwards to also think heavily about Obama, their views are similiar and Obama has the money and grass roots nationally to be elected.

Lest we forget, It doesn't matter who we elect in as President, it is the ones in congress and the senate that need the cahones to step up and think and do the same things the president wants to address and make those changes. Until then all presidents rarely make strides and are usually end up as talking heads. I hope it does happen, but we all need to be more aware of who we elect as officials. ALL OF THEM!

I used to think I could get behind Obama until I read he is for expanding NAFTA style trade agreements into South America. He supports the awful Peru Free Trade Agreement. Edwards is the only Dem I'm aware of who strongly opposes it. This is the first issue with Obama I have a serious problem with. Not sure I could support him. He's come down on the side of Bush/Clinton/Big Business and against working people.

Edwards makes the most sense of any of the candidates for President, bar none. He is articulate, sincere and capable. Yes, we have many firsts this year... first woman candidate... first black viable candidate... I am proud that Americans have these choices. But the choice should be for the "best" not just the "first". John Edwards is the best and brightest running and we need him to bring integrity, credibility and honesty back into government and the White House.

Whether or not you like them personally or their speaking skills is irrelevant. Obama is a bad idea. He says he is a good choice because he is an outsider from the system. Then, when asked about the expirience issue, he says that he has been in politics longer than any other of his opponents. See somthing wrong here?

Unbelievable speech - this is the candidate we need to match up against any of the Republicans and who would be best for to lead this country at this point in history! He is the most sincere, honest, and straightforward candidate and I have decided to support him from now on through his election as President! Democrats - please vote smart this time!!

Great Speech! I think Edwards/Obama or Edwards/Kucinich would be a great 8 years in our nations history. Let Obama get some needed experience as vice president, and then we could have 16 years of progress. Kick the money changers out of the temple!

Obama is, and I hate to say this, but it is true, a natural greaseball. He thinks he can charm himself into office, and then be a good president. He contradicts himself constantly, is imcompetent, but is so charming, everyone ignores this.

I think an Edwards/Biden or Edwards/Dodd ticket has a lot of potential myself. Biden brings strength and toughness and Dodd experience, wisdom and even a little humor (gray hair huh).

Pelosi did a lousy job introducing him, couldn't even pronouncing "rural" properly. But this speech was one of a champion of and for the people.

John Edwards gave the speech of his life in Des Moines last night. He has always convinced me that he would make the best President among the current candidates, but I think he also convinced Iowans with his heartfelt words. JRE in 08!!!

RFK? Paul Wellstone? I don't know. But definately one of the most inspiring speeches of my lifetime.
