freehostia is a pretty good site , but I found that they have bandwidth restrictions for web-Sites or File Sharing. The best one I have found is WiiJii COM , which gives 1gb of space , not alot of frills, but it works for what I am doing . I started with freehostia and it served it's purpose until there was alot of people coming to the site.
