Truly the greatest film of all time. I'm a boy, and this till touched my heart. This is not only a movie it's a monument. Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable were great together and it will always remain my favorite movie. Thanx for posting and very good job :)
THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON is now out on AMAZON KINDLE @2.99.The publishers said this book would make a great film......you will love THE DREAMS OF MR MULDOON.Best wishes.
Gone with the Wind is a piece of art, both book and movie. I always prefer the book and this title is no exception but if you didn't watch Gone with the Wind you should do it now.
The way it blows you in other worlds, the way it shows the true face of human kind, as it is, combined with the miraculous path of their
Scarlett O'Hara is such a fascinating charakter!! Although she's spoiled, bitchy and selfish you always understand the reasons for her behaviour..and you're always on her side!! Magnificent movie, magnificent book aaand magnificent Vivien Leigh!!!
they really don't make 'em like this anymore. And anyone else think that the women in hollywood just aren't beautiful these days, not when you compare them to Viven Leigh or Audrey Hepburn? Also why can't the fashion from the civil war come back in style, the dresses were incredible and i love top hats!!
I loved the video, it made me shiver :)I think I watched Gone With The Wind for about 100 times, it is still my favorite movie and will remain that way forever.
well if you watched it and you didnt like it then there isnt much one can do about that..it might just not be your thing...but i think one of the reasons it is so loved is because it is the ultimate survival story..survival of a woman facing hardship a country facing separation, and a relationship between scarlett and rhett that has issues just like all relationships...these are things people in any time can relate to..thats what makes a movie timeless...if any audience can relate to it.
its also maybe the best adaptation of a book and the acting is amazing. both vivien leigh and hattie macdaniel won oscars..it tells the story of the civil war that is never heard the women in the south and the civilization that was washed away with the civil war..if u want a war movie then watch a war movie. if you want a story about the human element in a specific time in america then watch GWTW. its just a movie that endless amounts of people have enjoyed b/c theres something magical about it
anyone who loves the movie will you tell you that...and if you didnt get that then its not really something anyone can explain to you...you either love it or you dont......i hope you give it another chance and if you do then leave behind any expectations you put on it and just enjoy it because i would truly pity one who cant experience the beauty and magic of gone with the wind
@whiteRose51 As great as the movie is, the book is much better. It tells in great detail the fate of the plantation owners, and their slaves--more than the movie can cover. I seen the movie more times than I can count, and read the book at least 5 times. Also visited some the actual sites in and around Atlanta.
I agree completely WhiteRose. I was reading Twilight the other day, and it did not compare at all. I found Bella annoying and weak compared to our Scarlett. Scarlett is the ultimate girl, and I aspire to be as brave and hearty as her.
It is not supposed to be a "war movie". It is basically about a "spoiled brat" of a woman who loses everything when the war breaks out and how she "lies, cheats, steals and kills" to get the life she once knew back. The story line is great if you ask me, much better than a soap opera. But if you are looking for a great documentary on the civil war itself, Ken burns did a great job with the "CIVIL WAR" . You can get it at any retail movie store.
Nice Job on this video... I love the way they used light and shadows in this film...Color was new as this was the first full length technocolor film...I have never seen such skill in any other film. They used it to convey moods and emotion so well.
thanks for the comment! yeah i totally agree about the color. it's so interesting that today when we have HD and plasma screens and everything you still can't beat technicolor

Rhett Butler is the best type of man, at least for me. I adore this character. And it's a pity that this kind of man no longer exists :)

Brilliant! This movie makes me tender hearted.
My grandmother took HER grandmother
to this movie, the daughter of a Confederate officer. It made her cry because it reminded her of better times.

I dont understand the thing about "gone with the wind".
It´s just like a soap, four hours of switching between different men and marriages.
It is definetley not a war movie, since the war part is over in like ten minutes.
Can someone please answer!
What makes Gone with the wind such a wonderful movie? What made it the most seen movie ever at the cinema?
283 000 000 people only in USA.
Thankful for answer!
