  • Kayfabe.

  • "the fire down below"-they have creams for that.

  • Wow... legendary stuff from the greatest days of wrestling!

  • That my friends is when wrestling was wrestling.

  • Good clip. An old solid wrestling feud between texans.

  • The Lariat Stan Hansen could drop a mean elbow.

  • Terrific work here.

  • @JKTube it's not a work ole anderson and terry funk hate each other till this day!

  • @oldschool6804: A. I didn't know that Ole and Terry hate each other. B. I meant that I was applauding the result of the effort.

  • "We've got that fire down below" o_o

  • funk is one of the best wrestlers of all time

  • Holy crap Nick Patrick has been a ref a long time.

  • @bigguyjames34 In 1985, Nick Patrick was a joober in Mid South. In 93, I saw him at a PPV, and started chanting Mid South Job Boy at him. He lloked at me, shrugged his shoulders, and said "You have to do what you're told to do for your paycheck"!!!

  • Great stuff! Thanks for posting. THIS WAS WRESTLING!

  • Classic and there is no doubt Gordon Solie was the best commentator in the history of pro Wrestling.

  • At 2:30, Terry is talking about gonorrhea!!!!

  • Terry Funk and Bob Orton could have passed for brothers at this time

  • The Dynamic Between Dusty and Terry Funk was Funny

  • Bellbottom Ref is not amused by mere Jobbers.

  • please put your shirt back on, mister rhodes.

  • Terry Funk was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion on December 19, 1976. Personally, I wonder if he ever appeared on WTBS with the belt. This was when it went from the old WTCG to TBS Superstation 17 on cable/satellite.

  • Thank you uploading these. I miss watching the real deal.

  • Dusty Rhodes looks like a girl i went out with on a date.

  • I love the classics man! Pot bellies and all!

  • wtf are those jobbers doing interferring with the beat down...what do they care

  • what a trio..Funker..Ole..Hansen....WOW!! But..this era is LONG GONE..sadly

  • This is awesome. Four of the greats. Back when men were men.

  • Ole and Hansen; What a great tag team, awesome. And Funk is awesome too.

Man I hope one day WWE will release a Best of Georgia Wrestling DVD. It won't happen I'm sure. What a shame, WWE have all the matches in their library and they never put matches on their DVD releases. :(

  • @JonathanVonErich Vince doesn't own the Georgia tapes. Ole does and he won't sell to Junior.

  • @yardlet6 Really !? I think you are wrong; in 2001 Vince McMahon gain the rights to Crockett's library of Georgia Championship Wrestling, that's what I have read. I know it's true because WWE have released DVDs in wich you can find Georgia wrestling matches ( Roadwarriors DVD, Jake Roberts' DVD etc. ). For example on Jake's DVD WWE included the match between Jake and Ron Garvin from Georgia wrestling, and on the LOD DVD they put the LOD's debut match, on Georgia Wrestling.

  • lol, the referee is dressed like George Carlin did for his 2nd HBO Special in 1978

  • WTF is wrong with that refereee?

  • The only build-up to the match was this angle... Funk shows up to team with Ole and Hansen, they turn on him, Funk offers Dusty his watch to team with him... a true pro!!!

  • When was this 1979?

  • @BigMDS67 : 1982

  • Terry Funk in a Pulp Fiction moment

  • What year is this?

  • @djjosh3000 : 1982

  • Doesn't Terry Funk sound like the motivational speaker Matt Foley from Saturday Night Live?

  • 0:22

Even though it has nothing to do with the match, that jobber got his wrist broken when it was hung up on the ropes.

  • 3:02-Funk's fathers watch was no Rolex, more like a timex or flea market throw away tv prop.

  • Sure, but Funk's daddy was so tough that if he told you a flea market Timex was a Rolex, it was a Rolex.

  • I have never seen Terry Funk in that kind of demeanor. I almost got emotional myself because I know how it feels to lose a father. What a promo! You just don't see stuff like this in today's wrestling! Nostalgic memories indeed, although I don't remember this particular incident between Funk and Anderson/Hansen.

  • Funk has always had emotional promos in every single company hes wrestled for. shows you that the Hardcore legend has a very pure heart. Long live Terry Funk & Mick Foley

  • That ring looks tiny, or is it just me?

  • the talent here at this time was awesome i can only dream of stuff like this now! also the matches at the omni are they online somewhere those were some amazing cards!!!!!

  • He would put up the Double cross Ranch to prevent him from turning on Jerry Lawler in Memphis.

  • damn, that was a really badass team too, Funk, Stan, and Ole! wish they could've lasted a little longer.

  • it will be a long time before another dusty or terry funk comes along . it will be a long time.

  • How great is Terry Funk? Really. Nobody sold everything so solidly. Ever.

  • AMAZING.

We will never see anything like this again in our lives.

  • I agree... I loved the cool old-style Funk-Rhodes duel with his dad's watch at the end, begging Rhodes to be his partner!

  • aint it sad kinghetzer? almost brings a tear 2 my eye just thinking about what we had

  • Now I'm all ready to see the match.

Mentioning other territories and angles from other territories? Life was really different before the WWF expansion. See how svelte Dusty is?

  • Hansen and Anderson were the first really badass team I'd ever seen. I had seen Ole and Gene and Flair and Valentine and a couple other great heel teams but Stan and Ole weren't just great heels but they seemed unbeatable.

  • Excellent wrestling clip. Georgia Championship Wrestling in the early 80s was the best I've ever seen. WWE is nothing compared to this.

  • @wolfsblood07 was Terry Funk always drunk? I grew up watching Georgia Championship Buzz sawyer, Tommy rich, Ole,arn, Murrocco,Flair,Piper etc don't seem like Funk was there much.

  • @wolfsblood07 in your dreams old man

  • what a dream team. 3 lunatics tearing shit up! good stuff!!!

  • That gave me chills. Why can no one promo like this anymore?

  • Boy,

those jobbers did a terrible job selling being thrown outta the ring.

  • this is a prime example of why wrestling was so great back in its heyday. The storylines were so convincing, not like the crap they put out these days....

  • @mmangum4444 it wasn't a storyline terry funk and dusty rhodes hated each other legit!

  • @oldschool6804 REAL TEXAS HATRED: RHODES VS THE FUNKS!!!!!!

  • A lot of people may have forgotten this, but for a while in 1982. Stan Hansen & Ole Anderson were the NWA World Tag Team Champions. They were awarded them by default over Wahoo McDaniel and Don Muraco. I don't know why they were given up later, but they wound up on Sgt. Slaughter and Don Kernodle later that year. This promo definetly came from Terry's heart. His father's death was a shock to everyone. When Dusty & Terry fought each other, they both left it in the ring.

  • I can't believe Gordon said at the start of the clip "Ole Anderson......with his tremendous muscles rippling...."

I've watched this clip about 10 times, and see NO traces of muscle on Old Ole Anderson.

  • Ole was old even back then........

  • lol... Quite true. Gene Anderson was even older..

  • I think Ole had made a comment about having some muscles himself, in relation to that ripped jobber on the team they were fighting. So Gordon made a comment about rippling "muscle". But don't kid yourself, when he wrestled Ole was a strong guy.

  • Man, I miss promos like that.

  • Touche'

  • Terry Funk, the 2nd greatest mic worker ever behind Piper (the Piper from the early to mid 80s---not that watered down WWE version from a few months back)

  • DUsty Rhodes has to be WAY up there too. I believe I saw Ric Flair in an interview praise Rhodes as the best ever on the mic. I would tend to agree.

  • Flair as also said Piper was the best ever on the mic and wrestling entertainer ever if you weeel

  • Wow, what a great angle! I cant believe that I have never seen or even heard of it before. Does anyone know what year this angle took place?

  • This match took place on 3/13/1982. Actually Stan & Terry were in the middle of one of the most intensive fueds in AJPW's history ever , so it was impossible for both to team up there back then. I really love Terry saying, " This right here means more to me than anything else i've had in my life. ", putting a Rolex watch of his father Dory Sr.'s on Dusty's hand and Dusty saying, " Don't you ever put your hands on me like that !!! " LOL GCW was no doubt one of the best with a lot of good talents.

  • Thank you.

  • terry and dusty fightin prop 8

  • I'd love to seen this match

  • Me too. Ole & Stan were a great tag team back in the day, but the hatred between Terry Funk & Dusty was legendary. This one was sure to be a wild brawl with 3 of the tougest men ever in the ring.

  • Totally agree. The bad blood between Dusty & Terry was LEGENDARY! Fans today just don't know how special that battle was. We need that today in wrestling. Also, Stan & ole together? One of the tougest tag-teams I've seen.

  • Amen

  • How do you sell out an arena? With a Promo like that. wrestlig Pyschology at it's best.

  • True. They just can't do it like this anymore. They cold talk you into a seat so quick. Now I go to the matches just because I'm a wrestling fan and it's something to do but it's not the same.

  • Wow what history to see Stardust and the Amarillo Rose be partners!

  • No. The following month, Dusty and Terry teamed up to face Ole and Stan in a rematch. This time it was a Bunkhouse match.

  • did terry turn on dusty when they taged

  • This was great! Thanks for posting.
