If you don't mind switching what you want on your iPod from time to time or if you have little music/video, get an iPod touch. I'd you have alot of stuff and you want it all in one place, go for the iPod classic.
@Woupy111 Not after a couple of years, i had the 1g 16gb touch and the back light went out after 2 years , also the supposedly scratch resistant screen isnt so scratch resistant over time, and, now that the app store exists, developers that once offered cool apps for free on jailbroken ipods, now only care about profiting off of the app store, and, not many places even offer free wifi, and, nothing beats 80gb - 160gb anyway. Real music lovers, go with the classic.
I have this iPod :) I got it because at the time, they only had 4 and 8 GB nanos, and I wanted more than that and the next step up was the Classic. And I definitely wasn't going to pay $50 more for 1/10 of the storage!
today 2010 ipod touch 8GB is now 199.99 32GB 299.99 and 64GB 399.99. i love my ipod touch 32GB 3rd generation, i used to have a 80GB ipod classic its not bad at all i was not very happy with it not much on it to do.

I myself went out and purchased the ipod classic after my old one got stolen two months ago. I choose the 120g because the new classic (5g) goes for more far but then you get less for the money.There is also a 160g for around $300 or so. The pricing of the i-products seems very unfair. Anyway, I was just happy I got the last 120g ipod at Target. :) P.S. I also use my ipod as a backup hard drive.

I prefer the classic! At first I was all like "I want the touch because it's awesome! It looks nice & blah!" But I thought about it a lot and now I want a new classic 120gig. But I'd rather wait 'cause it's been two years since the last update, and I'd rather wait to see if they get a new one.

The Touch is awesome if your a gamer, or if you need a PDA device. Plus it's very nice to watch videos on. But the Classic is awesome too, it has an amazing amount of memory and cant hold your entire library of songs, podcasts, videos, and pictures! So it really just depends on your needs. I have them both, but I prefer the Classic. :-) And I'm 16 so don't think the Classic is an old persons iPod either.

I have a ipod touch. It was good and everything until i used it for 2 weeks. Well number 1 let down is they already use 1gb of you memory for the boot system and all that stuff. 2. 8 gb is really nothing.

You will be glad that you didnt get the touch. I made that mistake and although I got way more cool features, the battery life sucks. So unless theres laways a place you can charge nearby, I dont reccomend the touch.

aren't you making this a bigger deal than it really is? yeah, the touch, at the moment is expensive, but thats going to change this year. i like both ipod and zune, they, have cool features in both.

it also has lots of extra features, like fucking awesome games that u can put in it, u can go on MSN, Yahoo Messenger, etc., there's no other mp3 player where u can watch videos as enjoyable as u do when u use an ipod Touch, u can add cool apps in it, like ibeer, ihandgun, ibug, Shotgun, and lots more, ipod touch also lets u watch YouTube videos in it, the only reason of why u dont like the ipod Touch is because u cant afford it... iPod Touch = The best mp3 ever!, Zune = a cheap piece of shit!

The Touch is awesome if your a gamer, or if you need a PDA device. Plus it's very nice to watch videos on. But the Classic is awesome too, it has an amazing amount of memory and cant hold your entire library of songs, podcasts, videos, and pictures! So it really just depends on your needs. I have them both, but I prefer the Classic. :-) And I'm 16 so don't think the Classic is an old persons iPod either.

Nice one mate, i just sold my ipod touch for 200 euros (32gb) just cos even it had 32 gigs, it wasn't even enough for my music(i have 95gb of it,lol). Then i bought 120gb ipod. I have my laptop with me almost eveywhere so safari was useless to me... i don't regret it at all

I have a ipod touch. It was good and everything until i used it for 2 weeks. Well number 1 let down is they already use 1gb of you memory for the boot system and all that stuff. 2. 8 gb is really nothing.
i have 30 songs 3 videos and 19 apps and i only have 5gb left. I should have just got the classic. Anybody that is wondering to get a ipod touch or classic. Get the classic. It's a way better investment.
I give ipod touch 7/10 because of all the feature and i give classic 9/10 because the gb.

that was a good choice you made. i have an iPod touch 8GB, and let me tell you, the battery life sucks ass!!! i would be playing music, on hold, and the brightness is all the way down, and the battery would die in like 1hr and 45 min. i read alot of reviews about the iPod classic and users say that the battery life is awesome... so have fun...
i am going to have to take back my iPod touch and get this one....

You will be glad that you didnt get the touch. I made that mistake and although I got way more cool features, the battery life sucks. So unless theres laways a place you can charge nearby, I dont reccomend the touch.

i got a touch 4 christmas, i have wanted it since last christmas basically, but now after what 3 weeks max after having it, i wish i got the ipod classic with 120gb for the same price as the ipod touch 16gb! and not only that i spend 1/2 the time thinking about the screen getting cracked in my pocket etc....so if you guys want any advice go for the classic if you have a laptop, you don't need the wi-fi.....saying me who has wanted this more than anything!

i think i like the classic better than touch because touch gets boring in a while. When i first bought and and put apps on, it was hella fun but after a while the apps became really boring. The capacity is really nominal so i recommend you people to get a ipod classic. I'm more of a music person rather than videos and style, soooo everyone has different tastes.

1.) Videos on youtube are much poorer quality
2.) You are unable to watch full videos on youtube
3.) Watching a downloaded move is infinitely preferable to streaming a movie over the internet, especially over Wi Fi.
4.) I have well over 2000 songs, that I will get round listening to on the move - and so do many other people.

i have the ipod touch, even tho its "sexy" i dont have much music. i just bought it for traveling. i mean im not a HUGE music person. but now ALL OF YOU WILL SEE! hes right. theres not much space on it. i have the 16 with only 100 songs 19 amps. and 2 videos, and a little bit more. (adverge) i almosted used up the whole thing! so becarefull.
in the longrun, classic is better.

i watch podcast so i choose itouch, even thought i don't have one. itouch got a bigger screen so i can watch my fresh daily video in school bus when you bored and not at home. ipod has a bigger memory but are you gonna use 80g of memory a day? you can barely use 8g of memory a day and i got like 200 music thats like only 2-3g(rounded up)and podcast doesnt take up that much space i got lots of podcast and lots of video if i dont watch 4 1 month it only take up like 4g.i still got 2g accounted 4
